The human body truly is a wonder of the natural world... although it's easy to take for granted. Few of us spend much time thinking about the underlying complexity that keeps us alive and kicking.
Two arms... Two legs... head, face, torso... of course, right? Just like any other primate. What else do I need to know?
Well although the skin you live in can feel a little uninteresting (seeing as we're all so familiar with what a body looks like), the mechanics of the human body are genuinely fascinating. We're blessed with bones stronger than steel, and intestines that can stretch for 30 feet. Like any other animal on Earth, we're a marvel of the universe—a testament to the power of evolution.
But still, so many of us so little about how it all works! There's a million little bits and pieces, and a thousand different systems that keep it all together. I mean, there's 27 bones in your hand alone! And 26 in each foot! Each of us like the most intricate and complicated puzzle you can possibly imagine. Lose just one piece, and the whole thing would be incomplete. Yet still, somehow it all comes together.
That's why we put together this video: to do justice to the incredible structure that is our bodies.
