Margot Robbie has been making waves in the film industry since her appearance in Wolf of Wall Street. Given her exponential increase in fame since the film’s release, it’s safe to say that we’ll be seeing a lot more of Margot Robbie in the future.

She was born in Australia in 1990, Margot was raised on her grandparents’ farm on the Gold Coast. She later moved to Melbourne to pursue acting. We all know how that turned out.

"Maggot” is a nickname for Margot Robbie that was given to her by family. The name grew on her throughout school when her classmates caught wind of it. It’s must be one of those ironic nicknames.

To prepare for her intimate scene with Leonardo DiCaprio, she took three shots of tequila, at 9 in the morning. Must have been a fun day on set, and that’s before hopping into bed with Leo.

Margot was extremely nervous during her audition for her part in Wolf of Wall Street. Margot and Leo were acting out the scene where the couple have a fight and she walked over to him and slapped him straight across the face. She said “I’m thinking, you just hit Leonardo DiCaprio in the face. They’re going to arrest you because that’s assault. You’re definitely never going to work again, that’s for sure. They’ll probably sue you as well in case there’s a bruise on his face and he needs to film something else". And then all of a sudden Marty and Leo just burst out laughing. She dressed up as James Franco’s character from Spring Breakers for Halloween, and there are hilarious photos to prove it. Another great option would have been Franco’s character in Pineapple Express.

She was a series regular on an Australian soap opera called Neighbours, in which she played a beautiful and fiery character named Donna Freedman. She even had pigtails at one point. Sounds so familiar, didn’t Margot do another beautiful and fiery character with pigtails?

In an interview she claimed “The whole point of Naomi is that her body is her only form of currency in this world. So when Marty was trying to help me out, and said in the scene where she seduces Jordan perhaps I could have a robe on, I said she wouldn’t. She has to be [undressed]. She’s laying her cards on the table".

Margot says she’s not much a “girly-girl” when it comes to day to day fashion. “Most of the time I end up wearing shorts and a T-shirt and a pair of Converse,” she said in an interview. “If I’m making an effort it’s on the less feminine side, more grungy and edgy". Margot Robbie landed one of the lead roles as a stewardess beside Christina Ricci. They were made to wear 60’s retro (super tight) girdles. Margot Robbie turned down huge money to do a raunchy magazine spread after Hugh Hefner asked for “that one from Wolf of Wall Street". The actress will only take all her clothes off for artistic purposes and feels no need to grace the cover of gentleman’s magazines. She has also commented that she isn’t shy about her own body image and in fact embraces how young and beautiful she is, stating; “When I’m in my 50s I’m going to be looking back saying, Whoop, whoop, look how good mum looked". If auditioning for the same role as Margot Robbie, then you might as well just go home. She was cast as Jane in the movie The Legend Of Tarzan beating Jessica Chastain and Emma Stone to the part. Margot Robbie was concerned she would never land the lead role opposite Smith in Focus as nobody would believe they were a couple. When they met she said they had “instant chemistry”. The first of these movies was a 2008 film called Vigilante, where she plays the fiancée of the man who becomes a vigilante after she is brutally assaulted and murdered. People may not know that Margot did not like the Harley Quinn character, in fact she hated her. When she first read the script for the movie, she saw that Harley was the Joker’s girlfriend, as well as a psychopath, a character profile that she was not too thrilled with, as she was quoted in an interview saying: “I thought, I have nothing in common with her. I hate her. It was a really tricky one to get my head around". It would appear though, that Harley Quinn did manage to grow on her, as she went through with portraying the character, much to the satisfaction of DC fans.
