These People Saw Things They Were NOT Supposed To See

We’ve all gotten a little curious sometimes and started snooping around where we weren’t supposed to. Other times, information falls into our lap without us even asking. Either way, both situations can get very awkward, very fast—and these Redditors found that out firsthand. Here are the excruciating times they stumbled on something they DEFINITELY weren’t supposed to see.

1. A Definite Overshare

Once, I was up way past bedtime, casually browsing through Facebook just like my mom, who was in a different time zone. She was chatting with an old flame from high school while her husband was at work and was sharing rather personal and intimate pictures. I was unaware I was in for a disgusting surprise.

Here's the catch - she didn't use the private messenger but posted everything on her public Facebook wall. So, I had to ring her up late in the night, get her password, and erase all those pictures from her Facebook.

2. Long Forgotten

Back in high school, I used to love exploring run-down buildings. Once, I came across an old, vandalized hospital where everything above ground was ruined. The basement though was pristine, probably because it was scary or perhaps too risky due to part of the building having crumbled.

Yet, I was adventurous, so I ventured downstairs. There were still documents on the desks, prescription slips scattered around, and various personal details. I was shocked that such private information was just abandoned like that.

What was peculiar was that I wasn't really concerned about these details, but I still found myself rummaging through pages and pages of untouched documents for years. I guess it was just an odd urge to discover things I knew I wasn't meant to see.

3. Candid Camera

About ten years ago, I started receiving strange emails. They contained photos from a hidden camera in a living room, but not mine - it was capturing two unfamiliar men in an apartment. The camera would take a picture every time they moved, then send it straight to my inbox. I had no idea who they were or why I was getting these pictures. Using my tech skills from the '90s, I figured out they were somewhere in France, even though I'm in the US.

At first, I was too scared to do anything about it. I mean, what if it was related to organized crime? Or something even worse? The camera was tucked away in what looked like a clock. It was probably on a shelf or mantelpiece since it had a view of the whole living room, including a wall with three doors leading to their bedrooms and bathroom.

I got a lot of photos of these guys. Like them getting up to use the bathroom in the middle of the night, or relaxing on the couch with a bottle of red wine. I waited a few days, thinking whoever had set this up would realize their mistake and correct the email address.

But that never happened. So, I eventually reached out to the company running the service and asked them to stop sending these pictures. All along, the two men just went on with their simple lives - eating, sleeping, drinking, and enjoying some TV. Everything else about this situation remains a mystery.

4. A Rough Patch

My ex-girlfriend and I were trying to fix things after facing some trouble in our relationship. She left her laptop, a gift from me, nearby while going shopping. I found myself reading her messages—and what I found shattered me. She had been secretly having dirty chats, even sharing private photos with several other men. Those photos were initially meant for me.

The part that still messes with my mind is a message from her best friend, advising her to leave me because I was too good for her and obviously did not deserve this treachery. Her cold reply mentioned something about someone having to pay her mobile bills. Funnily enough, her message pattern began to change roughly about a week before I discovered them.

She was texting all these men, confessing that she shouldn't have done it and that it was all a big mistake. Seemingly, things had improved between us, that's why she halted her actions. Regardless, the harm was already done. I chose to break up with her as I knew I'd never feel secure in our relationship again. My confidence level hasn't been the same since then. The fact is, being cheated on really sucks.

5. The Ballad Of Party Guy

Once, I was enjoying my time in the Deep South of Texas after finishing college. My pals and I would often spend our weekends hanging out at a popular local bar, where we'd play pool and have drinks. One evening, we spotted an older fellow acting strangely. He was wandering aimlessly from table to table, blabbering to whoever was around.

I noticed he had a habit of scratching his nose whenever he moved to a new table. I started to suspect he might be looking for some illegal substances. Eventually, he ended up at our pool table, asking us to join him in his party, trying to find some 'party favors'. The dude seemed pretty out of it.

We kept our distance and managed to ignore him until he went off to bother someone else. After a while, I didn't see him around and figured he'd left. By this point, the drinks were kicking in and I was having a desperate need for a bathroom break.

When I went to the restroom, I was met with a disturbing sight. Two large, intimidating men were shoving the party dude against the wall, punching him and shouting threats. His face had a weird mix of fear and pleasure. As soon as they noticed me, they stop and turn their faces towards me. We shared a weird, silent moment.

I deliberated leaving, but nature was calling strongly. I knew what I had to do. I awkwardly walked over to the urinal under their watchful eyes. The silence was so thick, you could cut it with a knife. I slowly loosened my belt, carefully maintaining eye contact, and then I relieved myself.

After finishing, without washing my hands - an exception just for this time, I headed towards the door. The men's staring eyes followed me until I opened the door and cast a last, sympathetic look at the party dude. With a hint of regret, he mumbled, "I don't think I'm gonna be partying tonight" just as the door closed behind me.

Back at the pool table, I told my friends it was time to leave, and we walked home. We never saw the party dude around again.

6. Bad Daddy

At 13, I caught my dad sending a dirty email to another woman - not my mom. He tried to make it look like a joke, but I wasn't fooled. I left and tried to check his email later, but he'd changed the password.

We used to all know his email password because it was how we logged into family things. I never told my mom about the email, but when the time came, I made sure he paid for it. Some years later, after they divorced, my mom needed help finding evidence of his infidelity on his laptop. I found explicit messages he'd sent and received on Craigslist.

A word of advice to parents, however: please don't ask your kids to do this. Get a professional from a computer store to help and spare your children from emotional distress.

7. All In Good Fun

I was at a work event for a week, where I had to share a room with a colleague from another office. We got along quite well, even though we'd only just met. On the last night there, I unexpectedly found him in bed with another male workmate of mine. Taken by surprise, I left the room immediately without saying anything.

As I was leaving, the other co-worker seemed angry and muttered that he thought I wasn't sharing the room. Apparently, my roommate thought I was departing a day earlier. To give them privacy, I ended up spending a few hours at the main building talking to others. I don't work there anymore, but that co-worker always avoided small talk whenever we crossed paths afterwards.

I never minded about his affairs, but looking back, probably the whole thing was more awkward for him than for me.

8. Letting It All Hang Out

While walking in the woods with some pals, we noticed that past a pile of rocks on our right, the forest stretched further. My friend and I, who were a bit ahead of the rest, saw a couple seriously making out deep into the forest.

We shot each other a "Did you just see that too?" kind of glance. By the time our other friends reached us, the couple had left and were out of sight. It was oddly happening at 2 pm, in broad daylight, not far from a busy road.

9. A Big Ol’ Softie

I live with two roommates. One of them owns a cat that I think is pretty adorable. However, the other roommate avoided it like crazy. He seemed to not like it at all. Or so I thought. One day, I peeked into this roommate's room (his door was open) and saw him playing with the cat using a long toy with a string attached to its end.

He was smiling quite happily. He didn’t notice me and I watched for a few seconds. It was surprising yet sweet, and I slipped out without making a sound. I never mentioned it afterward because it seemed like a private moment he wouldn't have wanted anyone seeing.

10. Wrong Number

When I was a kid, sometimes my mom asked me to pick up her phone if she was occupied. At this time, she was seeing this guy who'd call often. Once, I answered and he mistook me for my mom. An unbearably awkward situation followed: He ended up saying things kids shouldn't hear. After a bit, I politely interrupted him and said that I'd grab my mom.

11. The Woman Behind The Curtain

When I was just a kid, about nine, I once walked into my parents' room to chat with my mom, who had fallen asleep. I didn't know it then, but she had cancer and was under chemo treatments. That's why she always had a scarf wrapped around her head, covering her hair loss. I remember how she woke up startled and quickly ushered me out. But that image of her without hair - I still can't shake it off.

Just so you know, my mom left us a couple of years after that situation. It's been tough, but I've come to accept it. Now, I've grown up and I'm 22 years old.

12. Look Away!

Once, I accidentally saw my grandma without her clothes on. You see, my room is straight across from the bathroom, and I often study there with headphones on. One day, I pulled off my headphones because I heard my grandma shouting something from the bathroom. Just as I looked over, she was stepping out of the bathroom to go to the guest bedroom. What she had actually been hollering was "Eyes away, I'm not dressed yet!"

13. Dad’s Little Secret

Once my dad gifted me an item of furniture. When it reached my house, a post-it note that was stuck underneath it fell down. I immediately recognized my dad's unique handwriting on it. The note contained various details about gay-related personal ads he was replying to, mostly info about the guys involved there like their names, hobbies and age, and the progress of their conversations.

My dad, for as far as I knew, was straight. Joining the dots, I figured that this piece of furniture was from a temporary apartment he had when he and my stepmom had a break for around a year. The revelation didn't bother me at all. However, I sensed that my stepmom, an older, traditional woman, wouldn't have been okay with it.

I never informed my dad that I knew about this before he passed away.

14. Silence Is Golden

When I was about eight, I often swung by my buddy's house across the street. I'd typically show up uninvited, knocking on the door to see if my pal was free. One day, I knocked and waited. No one answered, but I could hear noises inside, so I knocked again.

My buddy sometimes got hooked on video games and took ages to answer the door. So I kept waiting and knocked again, puzzled by the delay. Suddenly, my friend’s dad showed up in the hallway, standing behind the glass door. He was stark naked, and we locked eyes.

I tried to leave, but he saw me. He opened the door—and then I saw something that made my stomach drop. There was a naked woman behind him, certainly not his wife. Caught off guard, my friend's dad froze. I, completely flustered, asked if his son was home. He stuttered out a ‘no’ and decided to cover himself.

I didn't know what else to say, so I tried to leave. His dad then blurted out, "Don't go!" I turned back, astonished and puzzled. I helped myself to an awkward greeting with the bare lady inside my friend's home while the dad left the room. He returned, handed me a bunch of cash, and urged, "Don't tell."

Being a kid, I didn't get why he gave me money, so I declined and headed back home. It was only years later that I understood why my friend's mum kicked his dad out shortly after that incident.

15. Pandora’s Word Document

When I was in high school, I stumbled upon an odd file on my father's computer. I opened it and my jaw dropped: It was like a diary, full of notes about his huge crush on another woman. I instantly regretted snooping and felt guilty, yet, I felt he shouldn't have had such confidential stuff on a shared PC. It was strange, and I kept it to myself and tried to forget about it.

My folks are still together and seem fairly content. As a young child, I simply felt sorry for them both. I thought they stayed together because they were against divorce, but as I've had my own relationships, I now realize it's just part of life. Maybe his way of dealing with it was just writing it down to help him get over it.

16. I’ll Be Over Here

When I was 18, I stayed up late to complete an English assignment. I thought of having a coke from the kitchen. On my way, I saw my dad with his friend's wife on the sofa in the living room. Shocked, I immediately walked away and decided that bathroom tap water was good enough for me.

17. All In The Family

When I was just a teenager of 14, I was hanging out at my cousin's. We're supposed to be splashing around in the pool, but I sneaked back inside for a quick drink and saw my aunt and uncle in a slightly awkward situation. My uncle immediately handed me a crisp $100 bill for my silence. After that, anytime I bumped into him, he'd always give me a little extra cash, anywhere between $20 to $50.

When I reached the age of around 19, I decided to let my uncle know, "Hey, man, it's cool, you do what you gotta do". His response was a warm embrace and since then, we've become super close.

18. Password Protected

I was chilling in an apartment complex's lobby when I asked the front desk lady for the Wi-Fi password. She wasn't much of a techie and just swung her monitor around to show me a text file. The thing was, this wasn't just any file, it had all the crucial passwords and codes for the entire building - Wi-Fi, access to boiler room, package room door code, security camera server info, her own work email. Crazy, right?

Then, she didn't want to dictate the password, so guess what, she allowed ME TO SNAP A PHOTO OF IT!

19. A Night You Can Never Forget

When I was 16, I had dropped off a friend at her piano lessons and was driving back home. Up ahead, there was a pickup truck loaded with sheetrock, stacked so high it topped the truck's cab. In the truck were a couple and their young children.

Their eldest daughter, 10 years old, was assigned to sit on top of the sheetrock to keep it down. That's when the unthinkable happened. A gust of wind lifted the sheetrock, sending the girl flying into the air before she crashed onto the road in front of me. I managed to stop in time to avoid hitting her and rushed to help her.

She was covered in blood, struggling to breathe through blood-filled nose and mouth. A nurse arrived and instructed me to keep the girl's head steady and talk to her calmly. Her distraught parents were not far behind. By the time I left the scene, I was soaked in her blood - it was on my face, neck, shoulders, hands, and dress.

Somehow, I drove home, still in a state of shock. My friend and I tried to sneak into my house unnoticed, as I looked like I'd been in the accident. I brushed past my mom and headed to the shower, asking my friend to explain what had happened. My mom was so startled that she followed me. I showered with my clothes still on, trying to wash away the blood.

That day will stay with me forever. I shouldn't have had to witness such a horrifying event. In the era before home computers and mobile phones, I had to wait for news in the newspaper. After several days in the hospital, the girl passed away. I learned from the news about her age and about her two younger siblings. To this day, it breaks my heart.

20. More Than He Bargained For

This story isn't about me, but rather my father. One rainy night, he was leaving a bar to fetch something from his car when he stumbled upon a shocking sight. One guy was pinning another's face in a potholed puddle, while the victim struggled wildly. My dad, acting on pure instinct, sprinted up and kicked the attacker in the head. The force of it knocked the guy unconscious.

Afterwards, my dad stayed with the victim, ensuring he was alright and preventing him from retaliating against his now unconscious attacker. He called 9-1-1 anonymously requesting assistance for the unconscious man before leaving the scene. The incident disturbed him deeply. He never returned to that bar again.

21. Bad Timing

So, back in high school, I kinda walked in on my buddy's mom - she was naked. She didn't think anyone would be home, so she left the bathroom door somewhat open. I really needed the bathroom and without thinking, I rushed in. Guess what? She was just getting out of the tub and reaching for a towel. I was mortified and kept saying sorry, but if I'm honest, I wasn't totally remorseful.

22. Do Not Disturb

When I was 14, I landed my first job at a plush hotel, doing jobs like laying out robes and setting chocolates. One day, I had to attend a room. Despite knocking several times, I walked into a scene of two extremely lively people doing... adult stuff. Seeing such activity was completely new to me as I barely even understood the concept.

I quickly left the room, placing a "Do Not Disturb" sign on their door, hoping they hadn't seen me. They seemed too engrossed in what they were doing to notice. I can recall the whole situation so clearly that I've tried to mimic their positions, but I never really had the physical agility. Good on them for being so energetic, but the scenario left a deep impression on me. And remember folks, for the sake of others - use the security latch on your hotel door!

23. Whatever Floats Your Boat

So... here's what happened. My karate coach and his wife are into some exotic lifestyle - cuckolding, where he allows other guys to be with his wife. Even worse, I learnt about it in the most surprising way. I happened upon a photo online where she was, well, pretty involved with these guys. Their faces? All blurred. But what caught my attention was the room. It was the exact room where I've been taking karate lessons. Weird, right?

24. Learning About Chemistry

I'm a teacher. I was helping my student, a 12-year-old boy, fix his school Chromebook. The standard trick that usually works is clearing the cache and cookies. But we aren't allowed to clear the history on school computers. When I opened the tab to clear these, I found his most recent Google search was, "How to kiss." The boy realized I had seen it and he looked really embarrassed.

25. Who Says Boomers Can’t Use Emojis

My dad was seeing a woman from his work behind my mom's back. I was hunting for a nice photo to send to grandma for her Christmas card when a message from his lady friend popped up on his phone, asking about when they were going to meet the next day. I couldn't help but have a look and what I saw wasn't pretty - a risqué photo with a gross comment and an eggplant emoji from my dad.

Once I'd gotten over my initial shock and nausea, I took the phone straight to my mom to show her what was going on.

26. No Labels

Before my folks and my friend's folks went out on a double date, they gathered at our house. Their eldest daughter was also there to watch over us kids. All the adults were jabbering in the kitchen. Meanwhile, my siblings and I wanted to show our sitter a homemade video that featured a turtle we found.

Sadly, none of the tapes had proper labels. So, we mistakenly played what was really my parents' very private tape. Picture this - five children gawking at the screen as they watch my mom undress my dad. I think you get the picture. Our sitter, barely 15, quickly jumped to turn off the VCR. And, all of a sudden, the parents come in, telling us to behave well, and are met with our shock.

27. A Little Me Time

At the hospital where I worked, staff were asked to sleep overnight during snowstorms to ensure we wouldn't be short-staffed if people couldn't travel the next day. Those, like me, in maintenance ended up sleeping on our office floors. Special areas were provided for crucial staff like doctors and nurses, for a nap or sleepovers during blizzards.

One of the doctors who stayed was a bit quirky but friendly. Waking up one early morning from my makeshift office bed, I was tasked to convert the sleeping areas used overnight into patient rooms.

Due to numerous car accidents that night, we needed all available beds. Much to my surprise, upon starting my task, I discovered a stash of personal items under the bed sheets of the first bed, and these sheets were fairly soiled. I immediately informed a nurse about the need for personal belongings to be removed.

The nurse, looking puzzled, went in for a look herself. Coming out rather quickly, she made an urgent announcement over the intercom. As I occupied myself with another room, the quirky doctor appeared, rushing into the room with her gym bag. After a few minutes, she left the room. On my return to the room, I found the bed fully stripped and the dirty sheets in the bin.

28. Living The High Life

Once upon a time, I was just a little kid, around eight, enjoying a fun holiday in Calabria, Italy, with my folks. We stayed in a rented house for about two weeks. One day, my brother, a pal, and I were having a blast in the garden when we caught some chatter from over the hedges.

Curiosity piqued, we peered through a gap in the greenery. What a sight it was! We spotted a guy, a water hose, and about seven or eight merry, unclad gals giggling.

Fast-forward some years and I still find myself perplexed. Who on earth was that man?

29. Tragic History

As a young child, I saw the Challenger disaster from my yard near Cape Canaveral. I couldn't help but watch it tragically explode. It's a sight no one, especially a child, should have witnessed. I firmly believe that the incident could have been avoided, but that's a separate conversation. The memory of what I saw that day has stayed with me and troubled me ever since.

30. Bad News

I remember seeing an X-ray of a person's chest who had only about half a year left to live. Back then, I was working on a construction site, sealing the ceiling of a hospital with fire-resistant material. Suddenly, an experienced medical technician nearby exclaimed in shock. Then she looked down at the X-ray image and said, "This person's only got about six months to live".

The X-ray was showing a lung area, but it was almost entirely filled with large, dense masses. The screen was almost entirely white. "The worst part? This person has no clue. He's never had a chest X-ray done before." she concluded.

31. She’s Still Got It

I was helping my older neighbor with a computer problem. He had a number of revealing photos of his wife sitting larger than life on his desktop. It's almost as though he wanted me to notice. I must say, she looked fit and healthy, especially for a woman in her 70s. I think it's fair to guess he must agree, otherwise, he probably wouldn't have exhibited those photos that openly.

32. Public, Meet Private

I've been in the tech industry for nearly 25 years and during the 90s and early 00s, I've filled most IT roles. Those years were a blast for tech professionals like myself, but there was a price to pay in the private sector. Our team was often asked to provide personal tech support for the higher-ups. On one service call, a lady from HR in her late 50s wanted me to set up her home computer to mimic her office one.

So, there I was doing my thing, when she hands over a paper listing websites she wanted easier access to (she didn't know about bookmarks). So, I started digging through the web browser history to find the exact URLs. Keep in mind, this was during the early days of Internet Explorer, when the 'history' feature was mainly known by tech folks only.

While I was typing out the URLs, some eye-opening, *very* "adult" websites started popping up in the history. She walked into the room, carrying some books, nonchalantly revealing that her husband just got a new laptop and planned to set up his own office elsewhere, leaving this computer (which he'd obviously been using) for her.

"How thoughtful of him," she said. Her husband happened to return home during my service visit; his wife mentioned that I was preparing her computer for work. He quickly tensed up, shot me a wary look, then retreated to his office. I kept my mouth shut, finished my job, and skedaddled. I never told her, but I bet he had a few sleepless nights afterward.

33. Buyer Beware

One day, out of pure boredom, my boyfriend and I were poking around my family's Amazon account. We stumbled upon a neat feature that let us see all our past orders. We had fun looking at old orders like some books from my childhood Christmas, a Kindle, the elf on the shelf we owned, and some of my elementary school textbooks.

We had a blast traveling down memory lane...until we discovered the archive feature. Curious about what we might have archived on Amazon, we clicked it. Boy, I wish I could erase what we saw. We found only one item, a not-so-great fleshlight bought in October 2019, right before our Disney family trip. My dad remains the only male family member, so the buyer and the intended user stood no doubt.

34. Parent Of The Year

While waiting for a red light to turn green, I glanced at my rearview mirror. I saw a man in the car behind me hitting a child on the face. He was yelling at her too. The girl appeared to be about nine or ten years old. As the light changed and I had to move, I lost track of their car at the first turn. I would've reported the incident if I could, but I didn't catch their license plate number.

That unhappy sight kind of ruined my day. I really wish that little girl is alright.

35. A Double-Edged Knife

My family has a liquor store and we live on a busy street. When I was 13 years old, I saw an incident from my bedroom window one night. I saw three slightly drunk people - two guys and a girl - having an argument while walking down the street.

Suddenly, one of the guys took out something from his pocket, which I later realized was a knife, and stabbed his companion in the chest. The sight was horrifying with blood everywhere. I quickly dialed the ambulance, but they advised me to call the cops as they cannot respond to dangerous situations. I followed their advice and the police arrived approximately 30 minutes later, followed by the ambulance in the next 10 minutes.

After the stabbing, the guy with the knife and the girl took off instantly, showing signs that this might not be a new scene for them. Happily, the stabbed guy survived.

36. Toilet Training

Some time back, my dad's buddy dropped by with his youngster. Our home's design puts the bathroom and fridge in plain sight of each other. Once, I went to get a bite, and noticed the bathroom light on and the door wide open. The sight that greeted me was the kid, stark naked, standing on the toilet seat, relieving himself directly into the bowl. It was clear no one else was nearby, so I decided to quietly retreat and steer clear of that section until their visit was over.

I'm still baffled as to why the kid uses the toilet that way, considering he's tall enough not to.

37. Too Close For Comfort

So, here's a story about my uncle seeing something he shouldn't have, not me. One day, I was looking at photos on my phone. I was showing him different pictures, you know, of my friends and stuff. Suddenly, I came across a picture I'd taken - it was a close-up of my chest. I had sent it to my boyfriend some time ago and forgot to remove it from my phone. So, you can imagine how embarrassed I was! I think my uncle was pretty surprised too. Oops! Sorry, Uncle John.

38. In The Know

Around eight years back, I stumbled upon a secret email thread on my boss's computer. This email was from a bunch of directors planning to overthrow the business's CEO and owner. I got wind of this conspiracy nine months before it became common knowledge when the owner announced his departure via email.

What I was clueless about after reading that email was that this secret plan ended up causing serious issues at one of our interstate offices. So severe that it led to almost 60% of the employees leaving from there. Then, just last year, I received an email that laid bare everyone's salaries. Turns out I'm underpaid big time, so I plan to bring this up in my next performance review.

39. Loose Lips

I discovered my step-dad browsing private personals for army folks. I chose to keep it from my mom, worrying she might fall deeper into her depression, or worse. But then things got INTERESTING. A few days later, we had a falling out. Being young but trying to grow up, I put pen to paper about my feelings.

I expressed everything, something like, "You can't even keep your husband happy." But I eventually crumpled the letter and tossed it. Next thing I knew, I was booted out and headed back to Arizona, clueless about why my mom was so angry at me. The day I got back, I learned she'd passed away. Turns out, she found my trashed message and put it back together.

This all resulted in me being kicked out and her overdosing on meds. I learnt about the discovery of my note three years later. She'd found it, discussed it with my grandma, who in turn unloaded her anger on me when mom passed. She labeled me cruel names, even called me a terrible person.

I was taken aback and denied all allegations because I had completely forgotten about the note. On her deathbed, grandma revealed about my mom discovering the note and mailed the pieced-together message to me. I was filled with remorse. A two-for-one blow; I stumbled upon something I shouldn't have as did my mom.

40. Blood, Sweat, And Tears

As a kid, my mom struggled with heavy periods. This resulted in finding blood-soaked pads stashed under the bed due to lack of privacy and the need to change them every hour. Despite all this, she balanced two jobs while taking care of a family of five. A nearby doctor friend told my dad that my mom's condition seemed serious.

The next month, my mom had surgery to remove her uterus. While she was recovering, my dad got his mom to care for her. My brother and I were told to leave the bedroom so she could rest. But being curious, we peeked from a window and saw her in a lot of pain, bandaged and bloodied. This sight was shocking and made us grow up a bit too early. We've never talked about it since.

41. A True Dog Lover

My aunt is more than a little unusual. I remember one family gathering at her house, with all of us just relaxing and chatting in the living room. She was cuddling with her pet dog, and when everyone else got distracted by something going on outside, I saw something bizarre. She quickly picked off a little crust from the dog's eye corner and popped it in her mouth! I was only eight at the time, so it really left me shocked and puzzled.

42. What She Doesn’t Know…

When I was 15, I borrowed my mom's suitcase for a trip with my grandma. I soon discovered a hidden envelope filled with explicit photos of my mom and stepdad. And no, it was not just the two of them either. Just as I discovered these shocking pictures, my grandma almost walked in on me. I was terrified she would want to see them.

Luckily, my aunt came to the rescue by distracting her, and I quickly hid the photos back where I found them. Quite an eye-opening experience, to say the least!

43. Show Me The Money

Once at my job, I was waiting for the printer to print my documents. Before me, there was another set of documents being printed which took a long time. Being curious, I checked what it was, and it turned out they were everyone’s paycheck details. This included pay details of our company's top executives. By just some fast calculations, I figured out their approximate yearly incomes. Honestly, I shouldn't have seen that.

44. He Wants To Get Caught

My ex used to borrow my laptop, and one-time he forgot to log off from his Facebook. I'm not one to nose around in other people's business, but I couldn't help but notice a suspicious message saying "What she doesn't know won't hurt her." I had no idea who the other girl was, and after a little digging, I found he was chatting with several girls.

I also found out he was using my laptop to watch loads of adult content on his days off. On top of that, he was still active on Plenty of Fish and giving out a secret second email to chat with those girls. The cherry on top was him having the nerve to accuse me of poking around in his personal stuff. Seriously? He was doing all this on MY laptop!

45. Eye Witness

Let me set the stage for you. Picture a sweltering summer day in a dodgy city parking lot. I'm in my car when I see a guy tip over a portable bathroom with another guy inside. The guy inside is now covered in a nasty mess. The stench even reached me in my car. Clearly disturbed, he gets super angry and starts to seriously fight the guy who tipped over the bathroom. Things went from 0 to 100 real quick.

He pins the guy on the ground, grabs a massive concrete brick, and starts bashing it on the guy's head. A truly gruesome sight. No one knew I was there, and I ended up being a witness in a court case years down the line.

46. Gone Too Soon

When I was just 12 years old, I saw a terrible accident. A man on his motorcycle slammed into a stationary car. The impact threw him over the car, making his head hit the hard road. Tragically, he didn't survive. Firefighters came and rinsed the debris off into the gutter. I later discovered the man was the dad of a girl from my middle school.

47. Revenge Is Best Served Hot

Just two weeks into my new job, I was the last one in the office on a Friday before a long weekend. Everyone else had left early or taken the day off, except for my project manager. I informed her I was heading out, but then I remembered that I forgot to leave a document for my boss. I needed to fetch it from my desk.

Now, my boss's office was under renovation, which meant I couldn't put the document on his table as usual. There was a makeshift station in the corner of his office where I was to leave the documents. It was hidden behind a portable screen, so I stepped behind that to drop off the paperwork.

Just as I was about to finish, the project manager walked in. Through the gaps in the screen, I noticed her carrying a plastic bag, some paper towels, and toilet paper. To my shock, she laid some paper towels on the boss's chair, yanked her trousers down and - well, to put it mildly - used it as a bathroom. I was too shocked to make a sound, hoping she didn't spot me.

Once she was done, she made a crude joke, packed up and headed home. I listened as the alarm activated, then rushed to close it off, staying out of sight until she had left.

48. It’s All A Lie

Growing up, my family life was far from ordinary. My dad and I shared a room with separate beds, while my mom preferred her own space on the other side of the house. It was all a bit weird, even for a naive kid like me. Dad was often missing, especially on weekends and late into most weekdays. But the real story was only revealed to me years later.

Stumbling upon a text on my dad's phone when I was 13 changed things. It was to some unknown number, where he expressed a longing to spend Christmas with his "real" family. I was just trying to play a game. Years down the line, now with a family of my own, I discovered the truth. My dad had an affair throughout his 18-year marriage with my mom. Even more shocking, I learned that I have a half-sister my age.

Thinking back, I'm almost certain that text was to this other woman. But to be honest, I've never cared to confirm it.

49. Haunted House

When my mom and sister were away, it was just me and dad at home. One night, I couldn't sleep, so I headed downstairs. As I was going down, I caught a glimpse of a woman's silhouette from the corner of my eye. But it was over in a flash.

Suddenly, my dad rushed over. "Hey, pal, what's up? Let's have a hug!" blocking my path to the living room. I was a bit annoyed, thinking my dad and sister were pulling a prank on me. Quickly, dad tried to convince me it was just my imagination, "You must have seen a ghost! We should tell your mom about your ghost sighting!"

Fast forward a few years, mom discovered dad was having an affair with a woman. She's now his wife. Man, that's a bummer.

50. A Nasty Surprise

When I was a five-year-old kid, I spotted a girl "sleeping" in our garden as the snow began to melt. My dad's face turned pale when I told him about her. He asked me to stay in my room and play. Later on, I found out that this "sleeping" girl had been in our garden for roughly two weeks, hidden and frozen under the snow.

The truth that she was a lifeless body didn't dawn on me until I was sixteen. I casually asked my dad, "Do you remember the girl sleeping in the garden?" To which he replied, "You goof, that was a dead body." From what I know, she might have been in her late teens or early twenties. Our neighborhood was a bit rough back then. The girl had probably been out enjoying herself, sat on our garden wall, and then collapsed.
