God-Awful Spoiled Brats

No one wants to deal with a spoiled brat, but sometimes, we don't have a choice. These Redditors shared stories of their most jaw-dropping encounters with spoiled brats, be they kids or full-grown adults, and hoo boy, are they ever infuriating.

1. How The Other Half Gives

I was having a bad day while working at a Subway one night, this kid comes in and orders a foot-long sub. The entire time I'm trying to take his order, he mumbles, sighs, walks away, and keeps saying, "I dunno". Just generally, he's being a huge brat. Then when it comes time to pay, he smiles at me with this annoying little grin and says he doesn't have enough cash on him.

He's close, but off by about 40 cents. So I said, "No problem little buddy, let me just ring that in as a six inch". He beams triumphantly that his short change plot worked—but he didn’t know what was coming. Before I rang it up, I snatched the sandwich back, split it in two, and handed him half the sub with his change while tossing the other half in the trash. Problem solved.

2. Must Be Hard Being You

My roommate is an application essay reader for a university's business school. He was just telling me about a kid who wrote his "overcoming hardship" essay about how he wanted a boat because all of his friends had boats, and it was hard for him to be left out. Then he overcame his hardship when his parents bought a boat.

3. Bending Is For Rubes

I saw some like a 12-year-old rich kid with his dad at Guitar Center buying like $6,000 worth of recording equipment. An item he was purchasing was on the lowest shelf. No big deal, right? Well, this kid proceeds to do the most spoiled thing ever. He snaps his fingers, pointed at it, and demanded an employee to "fetch this" for him.

4. A Real Chore

My boyfriend's little half-sister has parents who are real hippies and live at least 40 minutes from the nearest little town, live on an eco-friendly farm that her parents built from scratch. Since the age of 10 (she's now 16), my boyfriend’s sister has been taking other’s people’s money. She started by taking coins when she was babysitting for neighbors.

She would eventually find out where stashes of cash were kept and took their money. The neighbors found out and told her parents. They were mortified but didn't do much apart from telling her off and make her promise she wouldn't do it again. Well, that was just the start of her nightmare. Little things like that happened and the same outcome. Then her late grandad left a share of $1 million to her mother, which was used to upgrade the farm buy more land.

She took money from her granddad’s wallet out of his pocket when he was lying in the house dead when no one was looking. All she got was a bit of a talking to. She never has to give the money back because she spends it first. Her parents just say she has to work it off by doing chores. Now she's 16 and her latest antics have been taking her mother’s credit card to buy $800 of makeup online.

Her parents took the makeup from her, hoping to return it, but not before she replaced the makeup in the boxes with old bottles. They let her keep the makeup and still let her do all her school camps and parties, and the last I heard, her parents started a bed and breakfast and made a couple of grand, only to have it disappear.

She found out their internet banking passwords and transferred all her parents’ money to herself, then she spent it on food, friends, and makeup all in a weekend before they could find out. Her punishment? Working it off by doing chores. It makes me sick. I had to do chores for free! I'm still doing chores for free in my own house.

5. Kid Comeuppance

I had a friend, Don, who had two kids who are a year apart in age. When his son turned 16, Don was ready to give him his pristine Volkswagen. Don babied his cars, so this Jetta, though about seven years old, was truly in like-new condition, a car that most normal 16-year-olds would be thrilled to have. I would have been thrilled to have it myself!

So Don tells his son the plan and his son goes, "Dad, I'm not driving that car. It's a seven-year-old Jetta. I need a new pickup truck". After taking a deep breath so he didn't throttle his son, Don simply said "Well, then, I'll drive the Jetta for one more year and then give it to your sister when she's 16. If you want a new pickup truck then you'll either have to ask your mother or buy one yourself".

Now Don and his kids' mother had been divorced for years and, through a series of bad choices, his ex-wife had barely two dimes to rub together. Don had gotten remarried to a woman who was a very successful and wealthy business owner. So his son (very mistakenly) thought that Don and his current wife would foot the bill for whatever the son wanted; how very wrong he was...

Fast forward a year, his daughter is very happily driving the Jetta. Don bought himself a brand new Mazda. His son has access to neither of them. In desperation, his son bought himself an awful $800 beater just to get himself to and from work. Lesson learned I hope. I applaud Don for sticking to his guns and teaching his kid not to be an entitled jerk at an early age.

6. Sibling Rivalry

My sister has no job and lives by herself in my parents’ summer condo. She drives my parents' old car, doesn't pay any bills, and squanders all the money my parents give her for food and "emergencies" on partying and going to bars. She refuses to apply for anything that isn't a "glamorous" receptionist position for at least 17$ an hour because she's too good for it, despite having a worthless degree from a joke private school.

She has a new garbage boyfriend every other week. She is also incredibly mean. She never has anything nice to say to my parents or other siblings and constantly criticizes them to their faces and behind their backs. The last thing we trusted her with was picking us up at the airport (literally 30 minutes away from the house), for which we gave her a week's notice and texted her every other day to remind her.

We land and she doesn't answer my calls; then she calls my mom to complain and my mother starts yelling at us for "ruining my sister's night". My sister then sends us a bunch of text messages saying how disrespectful it was for us to ruin her weekend by expecting her to stay home to pick us up instead of going out. It was like 7 pm.

She could have easily gone out after. We had to take the train and it took us three hours to get home. I am never speaking to her again.

7. Her Attitude Drove Him Mad

My best friend's sister had a birthday party. Since I had been friends with this guy for so long and I was practically considered family, I was invited. Her parents bought her a brand new car for her birthday. When she got it, she threw the biggest fit I had ever seen. She started bawling her eyes out and moaning about how it was the wrong car and things like that.

She flat-out told her parents to take it back. Her dad looked her square in the eyes and told her, "Fine, you stupid, ungrateful little brat". He then got in the car and left. He came back to the house an hour or two later on a bus. The girl freaked out, asking where her new car was, and her dad told her that if she wanted a car, she would have to buy one with her own money.

8. Making Waves in Thailand

Someone I know had booked a post-Christmas vacation in southern Thailand in 2004. If that doesn't already ring a bell, let me remind you that this was probably one of the worst times in the history of mankind to go there. She arrived the day after the tsunami...and got super mad about the hotel being destroyed and her tour operator not being able to offer a proper replacement. Then she took it to the next level.

She also tried suing the hotel and operator, but to no avail. Like, what the heck is wrong with you?  What part of human decency don't you understand? Over 200k people have had their lives ended and all you freaking spoiled brats care about is that you won't be able to stay in your five-star hotel? Worst of all, she told me all this herself, probably looking for confirmation or something.

9. Mo Money, Less Problems (For Me)

I have a cousin who racked up $40K in student loan debt, and during this time thought it was a good idea to spend months following U2 around Europe for one of their tours. She asked my grandfather, a man who was raised during the Great Depression and worked his butt off just to become solidly middle class, to pay off those loans so she could buy a house.

The funny thing is, my grandfather would have helped her in any way he could if he felt she wasn’t just taking advantage of him. He helped me buy a car, helped some of my other cousins purchase a home, would gift you a new washer if yours broke, and was always there for our family in general. After he turned her down, she got revenge in the worst way possible.

She was so angry, she refused to let my grandparents see their great-grandchild for several years. Yeah, great move there.

10. Valuable Lessons

I know a multimillionaire woman. Maybe $95 million in net worth. She's a friend of my ex-wife. We hang out with her on a semi-regular basis. At any rate, one day (years ago), my kid is playing some Gameboy DS sharable game with her sons. It's a game that my kid has. Her boys don't. They finally finish the game while the grownups are getting lit and eating way too much crab.

One of her boys runs up to his mom and asks, "Can we get this game? It's really fun!" She says, "Oh... money's tight. Tell you what. Put it on your Christmas list. That's only a couple of months away, okay?" "Okay". And, with that, all the kids went downstairs to play whatever on the whatever. I looked at her and said, "Money's tight?"

She related the tale of how the kids have no idea that they have money. It was the way she was raised. She didn't discover the money until she graduated from university. At first, she was angry because her college could have been so much easier with money but, a few months after graduation, she started thinking back on how mad she had been at the wealthy kids who just bought their way out of every problem that came their way and how disgusted she had been at the way they lived their lives.

She apologized to her dad and swore that she would raise her kids the same way. She lives in a modest little house. Her boys wear sneakers until they destroy them. They will find out when they graduate college.

11. Everything Was Not Coming Up Roses

An ex-best friend of mine from college got into a fight with her boyfriend. As an apology, he said he would send her flowers. The day the flowers were supposed to arrive, there was a huge snowstorm, so they weren't delivered. The flowers ended up coming a day late, but she refused to accept them since they were now "old" flowers. But that wasn't the worst part.

She demanded that he send her new ones. The poor delivery guy just stood there awkwardly while she screamed at her boyfriend over the phone about the "disgusting flowers" and how she NEEDED new ones. My opinion of her completely changed after that little meltdown.

12. The Good Doctor

My father was a surgeon. He never turned down a case and frequently did pro bono work. When I was a teenager, I worked in his office, filing insurance. We had a female patient who had a lump on her breast and no insurance. Because the lumpectomy was positive, he operated on her, avoiding a radical mastectomy. On the day of her follow-up, he had been called to the ER.

She began to berate him to the staff for being so inconsiderate. When he came into the office, she saw him through the reception window, yelled at him for wasting her time, and told him she was going to go find another doctor. She went on ranting all in front of the other people in the waiting room, the nurses and staff.

She also said she was reporting him to the medical board, which she did. The board would investigate every complaint. Hers was that my father was "curt" with her and rude. She stormed out of the office and never returned. He absorbed every fee associated with the case and still didn't stop donating his services, which makes me proud to this day.

13.  My Brother’s Keeper

My brother was the worst. My mom, who was over 50, was raising his six-year-old daughter instead of enjoying her older years.  She willingly offered her home to his little girl, who had a MAJOR, expensive, time-consuming medical condition, so that she could have a stable, happy home. He had the nerve to say the most heartbreaking thing to her: "What have you ever done for me? Raising my daughter doesn't count!"

That exact quote sent me over the edge. My mother would constantly go to the opposite side of town bring him to her house so he could help her around the house. He would then demand payment. He got mad every time she wouldn’t give him money. He didn’t have a driver's license, and he screamed at her for two hours because she wouldn't let him borrow money to buy a car.

He had never paid back any "borrowed" money. My grandmother bought him top and bottom dentures because he messed up his teeth so bad they all had to be pulled. He also got mad because she wouldn’t pay for implants instead of dentures. Then, a check in the amount of $5,000.00 was sent to my dad's house. My dad graciously deposited the check into his bank account, withdrew the money, and gave it to my brother because they had the same name.

SHOCKINGLY, the check bounced, and the bank started accusing my dad of fraud. My grandparents had to pay off the bank so they wouldn't press charges. When they attempted to talk to my brother about a payment plan to pay them back, he threatened them. He couldn’t understand why my dad's side of the family disliked him. He constantly says I never help him, but when my mom needed a babysitter for his kid, I would step in every time.

14. It’s Fine

Back when I was getting my master’s degree, my best friend and I decided to get coffee together as a break from the hectic schedule we had that week. There was another girl from our class who we were polite and friendly to, but not really friends with, who said she wanted come along. Let’s call her Courtney. She was pretty.

Now, Courtney expected people to do the work for her and coasted through most of the year because this course had a lot of group assignments. It had become clear to almost everyone by the second day of the term that she didn’t actually want to study, and instead used to scope out places and insert herself into conversations where people talked about anything relating to money or wealth.

It was weird; her eyes would practically light up when she heard someone uses an expensive beauty brand, visits an expensive bar, or if someone had a relatively famous last name or lineage. So anyway, my best friend and I didn’t have much in common with her, but she insisted on joining us for coffee that day. We ended up regretting it so much.

We gave in and said okay and gave her the directions to meet us. Fast forward to us sitting in the café. She enters one hour late, spots us, and without even making eye contact or greeting the waiter, drops her wet half-open umbrella on his hands. We were mortified, and immediately called her out on it. Her response? She just shrugged and said, "It’s fine".

15. Toilet Money

When I was 17, I worked as a teller in a garage selling fuel. The local chip shop owner (fast food outlet) had a son who didn't work, but would turn up in his awesome white Lotus Esprit, the exact same car from Bond movie The Spy Who Loved Me. He would come in, put $20 of fuel in, then open his wallet, finger through a massive wedge of 50s, say, "Oh I have nothing smaller".

He’d take the one $20 bill he had out and fling it to the floor with his fingertips like it was a bit of dirty toilet paper that disgusted him. It was just such an awful display. And no wonder: His father literally spat at me once for suggesting his son get a job. But then there was a twist ending. Bumped into the son years later: Karma played out, and he became an addict.

16. "Stunning Privilege"

I'll throw out the disclaimer that the guy wasn't a jerk, he was okay, but the stunning privilege was both jaw-dropping and hilarious. He was a guy in college who came from a pretty wealthy family. He never had a job before—which isn't that crazy for his age and being a student, though I had been working throughout college.

One day he decided to get a job because he was "bored and wanted to see what it was like". I forget where he got a job, but it was a pretty laid-back part-time job pushing paper in an office setting. A few weeks after starting, we're hanging out, and he's talking about work. He reaches in his pocket and says, "Today they gave me this. What am I supposed to do with it?" It was his paycheck.

I stared at him for a second and said, "Dude, that's your check. What do you mean 'What do I do with it?’ Deposit it in your bank". He says, "I don't know how to do that. My dad just puts money in there. I don't look at it, I just take money out from ATMs or use my card". Not wanting to walk the poor guy through such an easy process, I just tell him to take it to a grocery store and cash it.

What he said next made me nearly fall off the couch in disbelief. He said, "What do you mean cash it? Like, they'll just give me money for this [looking at his paycheck]?" Must be nice.

17. Dad The Wimp?

My employer's two sons have everything paid for so they never have to worry about the cost. They both have everything they want and need. One of them likes expensive shiny things and he's always thrown fits until he got what he wanted. For Christmas, he wanted a $1,200 55" Samsung curved television, even after his dad said that his budget is $1,000.

He threw fits and got mad at his dad and his dad, being the wimp he is, apologized and ended up buying it for him anyway. The son is 21 years old.

18. She Was Barking Up The Wrong Tree

We let a client of ours borrow a luxury car. My boss asked me to call her the following day to ask her to return it by the weekend. She said she would after she complained that the tank was only half full. The weekend rolled around, and she didn’t bring back the car. I called several times over the next couple of weeks, and eventually, she called back angry.

She yelled at me over the phone and said, "I have people coming to trim the trees in my front yard, and your car is in their way! Get over here and pick up your car NOW!" I asked her why she hadn't returned the vehicle to us a couple of weeks ago as she promised. She said, "I decided to take a vacation instead," as if that was the most rational reason to keep someone's car for nearly three weeks.

I asked her to drive the car back to our company, and she refused. She yelled, "GET OVER HERE AND PICK THIS CAR UP NOW!!!" I told her the soonest I could make it there was in a couple of hours—then she got even more upset. She screamed, "I'M PAYING THESE TREE TRIMMERS BY THE HOUR AND YOUR CAR IS IN THEIR WAY!!!!!!!" So, a couple of hours later, I showed up to take the car, and wouldn't you know it, she drained the battery.

She wasn't at home when I got there, but when she called me upon her return, she was not happy. She asked, "WHY IS THIS CAR STILL HERE!?!?!?" I explained the battery was drained, and I had called a tow service who would be there in three hours. She screamed back that three hours was unacceptable and demanded I call every local tow company.

She even wanted me to use another phone because she wanted to listen to make sure I did. At that point, I told her I could not help her, and she could go ahead and contact my boss.

19. Beauty School Drop Out

I was friends with a girl who never had a job at 20 years old. She dropped out of high school at 15, and at that age, she wanted a car. The Jeep she got wasn't good enough, so at 16 years old, she got a new car. She had a gas card from her parents so she could get gas whenever she wanted. She also had a $100 weekly allowance.

She found out that she could use the gas card at the bank to get cash out and did that for a few months until her parents found out. But that didn't stop them from enabling her. When they paid for her $20,000 tuition at cosmetology school, she dropped out. They then paid for her to go to a nursing trade school. She dropped out again. She decided not to go to college and still lived at home.

Her family would make dinner every night, but she never ate at home. Instead, she always had fast food. As a result, she gained weight, which made her think that she needed to buy a new closet full of clothes.  She screamed and fussed all she could until she got what she wanted. Her mother was the sweetest woman and always tried to make her happy.

However, when she didn't get more money beyond her weekly allowance, things got dark...She would hit her mom and call her names. One day, I witnessed her throwing a large soft drink at her mom's face because she wanted a tattoo, and her mom wouldn't fork up the money. Never in my life had I ever seen a lazier, more spoiled person in my life.

20. My Sister-In-Law Had To Go

My sister-in-law was in her 50s and homeless. She wouldn’t take jobs that she felt were beneath her and moved all of her stuff into her parent's basement, who were in their 80s. After burning her bridges with them, she moved in with my wife and me, although her stuff stayed at her parents’ house. One day, she came home in tears.

She said, "I was just at the house, and I can't believe what that guy [her father] did! I had my clothes all organized upstairs, and he moved everything around! I had everything organized! I had my clean clothes in one pile and dirty clothes stacked in another". I asked her, "Wait. You left dirty clothes in your parent's house for a year?" To which she replied, "Yeah, so?"

She would borrow money from people without any intention of paying it back. Her mother finally grew a bit of a spine and asked her to sign a piece of paper. She went ballistic about how her own mother didn’t trust her. Of course, she still took the money and never paid it back.  While she was staying with us, it had snowed a lot. Where I lived, we had on-street parking. So, after a snowfall, people would go out with their shovels and dig out their cars and sidewalks.

The neighbor across the street had a snow blower and would often clear out everyone's car and sidewalk. Her car was a bit further down the road, and it looked like he was going to stop and turn around before getting to hers. She was standing in the front window screaming at the top of her lungs, "C'mon, you can't just go up a few more cars. I can't believe this. You're going to stop right there!" It took a call to the authorities to get her out of our house.

21. Queen of the Cinemas

I work at a movie theatre, and my company has a paid loyalty program that allows special benefits at box office and concessions, like being able to skip the line using a special gold line. Because of the special "perks," some people like to think they're royalty when it comes to buying items. On busy days we normally take two loyalty guests for every regular guest.

They were usually OK—but I'll never forget that one, horrible woman. One day, I happened to be taking a guest and a woman in the loyalty line came up to the box office glass and started just slamming her hands against it. She felt as if the service was taking too long and she wanted to be served right then and there.

Mind you, I'm still taking a guest so I'm trying to focus on the people in front of me, while this idiot is literally trying to break the glass next to my face. Every other sentence out of her mouth is, "I pay for this, I shouldn't be treated like this". It's $15 a year lady, calm yourself. I seriously cannot believe some people in this world.

22. Snobette Snootyson

I was on my high school's newspaper staff and we always did a section on cars in the parking lot, where we highlighted one old beater and one super nice car and then interviewed both owners. Everyone loved it—and don't worry, the owners of the beaters were always super excited to be a part of it and they always had the best stories.

So we pick Snobette Snootyson because she's got a nice brand new Range Rover or something, and after I'm the last to call "not it" I'm forced to interview her. I asked her what was her favorite feature of the car? "Well one time I forgot to put it in park and it started rolling away, but it didn't roll that fast so probably that. Or my G-Eazy bumper sticker".

Then I asked, "Got any funny stories about your car?" "Yeah!" she exclaimed.  "When my parents first got me it, I was making faces at my friend and turned left when it wasn't a green arrow and totaled it. So they got me the same one again!" I managed to sneak into the article: "Snootyson has managed to keep her car undamaged since October". It was January.

23. Daddy’s Dime

In college, I knew a girl whose daddy was some big shot banker or something. He made enough that the wife didn't have to work and three kids could go to expensive schools. This girl didn't have to work during college, had all her supplies and lodging paid for by daddy, and got to fly home every time there was a three-day weekend. All on her father's dime.

I once had to borrow $10 from her to pay for some food when we went out to eat. I promised I would pay her back once I got my check next week—at the time, I worked for a cafe. She seemed cool with it. Turns out she was not cool with it, and promptly bashed me on her blog and to all her other friends calling me a bad person and a thief because I borrowed $10.

I paid her back. I brought up the blog posts and she was very embarrassed. The last I heard of her she's living in a daddy-paid Manhattan apartment working part-time as a receptionist at a yoga studio. She started a new blog about "the struggle".

24.  An Unreal Deal

When my oldest child was 15, she was really into this "glamour look". She loved anything and everything that was hot pink, black and lacey. I scrimped and saved and bought her a whole new bedroom ensemble for Christmas that was the exact look she had been drooling over at the stores with her friends. I had kept it hidden, or so I thought.

One day she not-so-casually said something to the effect of, "I'm really looking forward to Christmas. I can't wait to get an awesome digital camera. Can you BELIEVE some people get their kids BEDROOM STUFF for Christmas? That would be the WORST Christmas EVER. ALL I want is a digital camera. I'm not even picky!!!" She stared at me intently the entire time she was saying this. I was heartbroken and furious.

We barely had any money to begin with, which she was well aware of. She was our foster child at the time and had a ton of emotional trauma and attachment issues. Caring for her was a huge strain on us, but we loved her regardless. It was obvious she had found her gifts. I returned everything the next day and got her a very cheap digital camera that was on sale for about $20.

25. I Had To Put In My Two Bits

I used to work at Apple. I had a mom with two kids come into the store, which was located in a wealthy neighborhood, to buy a Christmas present for the dad. All of a sudden, the daughter, who was about seven, said, "If daddy gets a new laptop, I should get a new iPod touch because mine is old". So she picked out an iPod touch.

Then the son, who was about five, lost his marbles because his sister got an iPod and he didn't. So he got an iPod touch. Then they tacked on accessories, and the mom dropped at least $1000 total for those kids. It wasn't even their Xmas present. They didn't bother to say,  "Thanks, mom". I had to TELL those spoiled brats to thank their mother. I literally said, "This is the part where you say thank you, mom".

26. The One-Upper

I had a friend for most of my life who fit the stereotypical image of a spoiled rich kid. His dad made a lot of money. In the time I knew him, he seemed to move from upper middle class to wealthy.  I was always very well off, but whatever I had, he had to have something better. If I had a two-year-old Honda 70, he had to get a brand new 50 with a big bore kit, racing tires, reservoir rear shock, exhaust, valves, intake, etc.

It didn't bother me much as I could often keep up on a track, but it carried over everywhere. When I got an older Impala SS from my parents that I paid insurance for under my own name and gas, with the job I had, he got a brand new SRT8 Grand Cherokee with a $10,000 stereo system. The next year he got a brand new SRT8 Challenger. He had no job and worse grades.

I don’t care about what you own or how you got it. But he bragged about his stuff nonstop. He was truly full of himself and believed he was better than everyone around him because of it. The worst part was while I was going to school and working full-time to pay for school, he didn’t have to pay for anything. His life plan was just to "inherit the family business".

27. You’re Ruining My Spray Tan

A girl I knew in college was the spoiled brat of divorced parents. Her stepmother couldn't have kids and married the girl’s father when the girl was a toddler, so stepmom spoiled "her baby" rotten. There was the typical paying for her school expenses including college tuition and whatnot, but the summer before her junior year she decides she wants a car.

Her dad says no. She throws a tantrum. Her stepmom buys her a Lexus. This girl gets home from one of her regular spray tans and discovers the new Lexus in the driveway of the house she's subletting for the summer is now hers. End of the story right? Not by a long shot. You see, the Lexus isn't the one that she wants.

She throws a freaking monstrous tantrum on the front lawn because that's not the car she wanted; she wanted a red car in some other model. Her parents are trying to calm her down and she's cried so many tears, she's ruined her spray tan. Her dad and stepmom take the car back. She continues to whine about not having a car, how she needs a car, that she's a freaking adult who needs to drive to do anything fun.

Initially, we thought they took it away for her ungratefulness. A week later her dad calls; he just happened to be driving around and saw a car for sale in the make and model she wanted...only it was white. This garbage human has another meltdown, ruining her second spray tan she got to fix the first one. Why now? Because she felt left out of the finding and purchasing of her car because they were doing everything without her.

Her stepmom came up again and took her shopping for a car. It took the girl the entire weekend. Then, after her stepmom left, she had the gall to complain that they clearly didn't love her because they just didn't know what she wanted right off the bat. She was also 19 and dating a married doctor from the local hospital. I just blatantly avoided her after that summer.

28. Employee for a Day

I used to live near a very affluent area, and many of the most convenient grocery stores were just inside said area. A friend of mine was staying with us for a few weeks and would occasionally stop by said stores on her way home from work. One day, while she was at the self-checkout, a woman came up to her telling her to bag her groceries.

My friend politely told her she didn't work there. The lady then insisted that my friend did indeed work there, and demanded she bag her groceries, citing the way she was dressed. For reference, at the time she was working as an intern at a local engineering firm so her outfit was professional, and not at all resembling the uniform of the store.

Eventually, this lady's tantrum caught the attention of an actual employee, who then had to tell the woman SEVERAL times that my friend was not, in fact, an employee of the store. Then the woman said the most ridiculous thing of all time. "Well, she should have just bagged my groceries anyway". And that is the story of how my best friend came the closest she's ever been to literally choking someone.

29. Insta-Hilarious

There was a girl at my college with a big-shot oil daddy and she was the most insufferable human I've ever witnessed. She tried to brand herself as this super environmentalist hippy but used all of dad's oil money for weekly trips across the country and the globe in private jets with insane wardrobes and fancy dinners.

I've never seen someone use money so frivolously while constantly on social media preaching about all the earth has given her or whatever. Seriously her Instagram posts are hilarious: "As I am soaked in the bright and glorious sun I am moved with gratitude. I give thanks to every part of my body, for warrioring me through life and for simply being. Thank you water you are life, may we protect you as you do for us. For the past week I have been deep in the shadow... what a darker tone this is compared to the rose gold clouds I normally drift in. I've leaned into the unknown, and I've chosen to embrace it all.... pains... grace.... peace... I am blissful".

They just go on and on like that. Last I heard she "somehow" convinced the school to let her do a "special" graduation program in Hawaii and now her dad pays for her to live a "gypset" lifestyle which if I understand correctly is just flying all over the world on insane dime doing whatever you want?

30. Driven To Distraction

My brother once broke off one of theon my father's nicest car just two days before getting his license.  He was driving illegally because he couldn't be bothered with the five-minute walk to the store on a mild sunny day to get a can of soda. He then just put the car in the garage as if nothing happened.

My parents bought him a brand new motorcycle so that he "wouldn't be tempted to borrow the car" anymore.

31. He Hit A Sour Note

I was working multiple jobs, and my ex occasionally worked as a grip. I bought tons of music equipment for him. I was ok with it at the time because he was a talented musician. I had a daughter from a previous relationship, and he would always remind me and everyone around us how lucky I was that he proposed to me even though I had a kid from someone else.

He had constant temper tantrums. The final straw was when he screamed at me when HE got a speeding ticket. It was my fault that I didn't make more money so that when his insurance payment went up, I couldn't cover the cost more easily. On Christmas Eve, he freaked out that I spent money on my family and not more on his and the struck me.

In reality, I had actually spent far more money on them since they were well-moneyed and expected fancy stuff. I promptly got a place for my daughter and me and secretly furnished it over the next few months. After I broke up with him and moved out, he actually asked me for alimony. I invited him to sue me for alimony and never heard back from him.

32. Her Attitude Kilt Our Friendship

It was my senior year of college, and my good friend and I were attending an informational meeting for a summer study-abroad trip. The trip, which was to Scotland, was pretty much my dream. I attended the meeting on the slight chance that I would be able to afford to go. I always had to work hard for everything in life—my own car, laptop, various bills, etc.

I paid for college on my own as well. My friend had none of these burdens. Her parents paid for her to go to college, gave her a good car, paid her rent, bills, etc. The one time she got a job was "because she felt like she ought to have one". She ended up quitting when they scheduled her for an evening when she had a minor musical performance in a choir.

She was also really stingy with her spending money. She rarely, if ever, treated anyone to anything but was very willing to accept offers from everyone else, including me. Her idea of responsibility was having her parents put money into HER bank account so that she personally had to pay the bills. Once, she invited me to her parent's house for dinner.

They asked her to pick up a loaf of french bread. She did and then demanded reimbursement when they got home. She was also the type of girl who was going to live off of her parents until she got married and had a guy to pay for everything. I couldn’t afford the Scotland trip and was crushed. I picked myself up and moved on, telling myself that someday I would be able to go.

My friend convinced her parents to foot the $5K bill for her and would constantly talk about how excited she was. I was happy for her and kept my jealousy well-hidden because I was a good friend. But then she tipped me over the edge—and it effectively ended our friendship...I overheard her complaining to someone else who was going that, "She didn't think it was fair that some other students got to go to London and France too, because her parents would ONLY pay for Scotland".

33. Problem Child

It was my friend's 15th birthday, and her little sister was the most spoiled brat I had ever met. We went out to dinner with her grandparents. Her grandparents hand her eight-year-old sister a present. She opened it, saying how it was so much better than anything my friend got for her birthday—and it was. Her grandparents didn't even bother getting my friend a present.

The little sister picked the restaurant and made fun of my friend for being overweight. My friend was forced to sit at the end of the table, away from everyone else, so they could talk about and coo over her sister. When we got home, we sat in the living room. The little sister got in the middle of the floor and started showing us her acrobat tricks.

I completely ignored her and started talking to my friend about other birthday plans when my friend made this frantic hand gesture for me to stop. Suddenly, her grandparents interrupted and said,  "Um, do you know that little sister is talking and showing us a routine?" I replied, "I don't really care. I'm not her friend". Her whole family stared at me in shock.

Her grandfather started huffing, and her grandma told me that I was rude. I gave my friend her present and walked out. Her parents gave her a TracFone for Christmas—she had to pay for minutes. The only reason her parents gave her one was because they had left her at school after choir practice about ten or eleven times. She had to wait for hours because she had no cell.

Meanwhile, her sister got a smartphone for no reason, paid for by her parents. I couldn’t stand that child.

34. Ubers Are for Losers

I grew up dirt poor in a really terrible household. Many years later, I went to Stanford. The stuff I saw there was enough to write a freaking book. Absolute insanity every single day of the week. I'm talking people talking smack about how trashy Tiffany's jewelry is. My buddy Kyle had a guest over to his apartment and his guest commented on how nice the furniture was.

As a gesture, Kyle gave his guest all of the furniture because "That's what rich people do". It was his roommate’s furniture. He refused to have it replaced. A girl I know purchased a $5k dress in Beverly Hills. Brought it back to her hotel room. Didn't like the way it fit, left it in the hotel room for the maid. But this is the really good story: Same girl fell head over heels for a guy at a party, ogling him all night.

He was WAY out of her league. He starts chatting with her and a few minutes later it turns out that he's actually just friends with someone at the party and was invited, he doesn't go to Stanford, he goes to Berkeley. When she found out, her response made my blood run cold. She smacked him across the face like four times because how freaking dare he talk to her knowing that he goes to a state school.

35. I Miss my Butler

I work at a high-end buffet in Vegas. You get sat, are told to wait, I come up and greet you, explain our offerings, go over the drink menu, take a drink order, and then inform you to help yourself while I get the drinks. As I step away one time, I hear a kid about eight or so say, "So I have to get my own food?" Mom said yes.

Kid said, "I told you we should have brought Michael with us". I didn't understand who Michael was at first. When I realized the truth, I almost burst out laughing. Mom said, "NO, I told you before, we're not bringing our butler on vacation". I was five feet away and this was clear as day. I was stunned—that kid was 100% not joking one bit.

He really wanted his family butler to be on vacation so he wouldn't have to walk to a buffet and get his own food. I'm not insulting the little dude for having one baller lifestyle, but holy balls that was an insane conversation to hear.

36. Jimmy Two-Twos

My cousin has two kids, seven and nine years old. Both boys. Spoils the life out of them and lets them get away with terrible, bratty behavior. Whenever one of them is having a birthday party, she tells attending family members, "Make sure you get both of them a present, or else there will be a case of EXTREME jealousy".

Telling your guests to bring a gift is a pretty gross thing to do. Telling your guests to bring an extra gift for someone other than the birthday boy is just obnoxious. And what's more is that they are by no means rich enough to spoil their kids the way they do. And neither of the parents grew up rich and spoiled themselves, so I have no idea where they got this from.

37. Prom Princess

My mom had cervical cancer a few years ago and had a full hysterectomy. She was out of work for a while and my brother and I had to work more hours and help out with the majority of the bills and groceries. My then-girlfriend at the time couldn't seem to understand why I wasn't willing to pay hundreds of dollars on a tux and prom stuff.

She proceeded to ask me every day if we were going until I finally yelled at her and told her sarcastically that I was sorry my mom had cancer and surgery to remove all of it and that I was sorry I had to help out with paying bills. She finally shut up about it and cried to her friends, literally cried, at the school. She told them I just didn't want to go to the prom with her.

She left out the cancer part. I only learned that the other week when one of the people she cried to got hired at my job and told me what she did. We later broke up because she cheated on me and she told everyone I hit her. I've never been in a fight in my life and I'm afraid to hit anyone. I guess prom overrules helping my mom who had cancer.

38. She Was Creaming Mad

There was a girl I went to school with who was really extreme. Her stepfather was incredibly rich. He paid for her car, tuition, expenses, and the massive parties she always wanted to throw. At home, she had a bedroom with a separate study, a bathroom with a jacuzzi and power shower, and a gym all to herself. Yet, she would constantly complain about her stepdad, calling him stingy.

When we were in boarding school together, she used to come to my room every night with this special moisturizer for her back and get me to put it on for her. She had pretty bad acne on her shoulders, and the cream stank like rotten cream cheese. One night, she came into my room when I was already in bed and expected me to put on the cream.

She knew that after putting it on, I would have to get up and go wash my hands. Since I was in bed already, my roommate offered to do it. The girl went totally mental. She screamed at me for a good twenty minutes about how selfish I was, and on her way out of the room, she knocked all my books off the shelves, even breaking some ornaments I had amongst them.

39. Spoiled To The Core

My ex-girlfriend and I were poor grad students, yet I took her out regularly and was overly generous with my money. She always got the most expensive things on the menu and ordered the most expensive drinks, despite NEVER offering to pay or split the bill—even after dating for quite a while. We talked about needing to save some money, and she was stunned that I would even think to stop spoiling her.

Eventually, I broke up with her for being the egotistical, spoiled, ungrateful person that she was. The funniest thing, though, was after we broke up, we got into a fight. I raised the point that she never offered to pay for anything despite expecting incredibly nice things all the time. Her response floored me. She said, "Truly generous people give selflessly and expect nothing in return".

It was the most ironic statement ever—she was not nearly as smart as she thought she was.

40. She Was Trippin’

I was on a trip with my chorus to NYC. I was rooming with three other girls. Girl #1 and I were really good friends, Girl #2 was a girl I kind of liked, and Girl #3 was an old friend whom I hadn’t spoken to very much in years. After having a very exhausting and stressful last day in the big city, we retired to our hotel room, where we started to get cleaned up and prepare for bed.

Girl #3 seemed kind of troubled, but we didn't think much about it. I tried to talk to Girl #3, but it was kind of awkward because I hadn't spoken to her in years. She finally opened up and admitted that just before the trip, she had been molested by her stepfather. She buried her face in my arms and sobbed, and sobbed and sobbed.

She was shaking and saying how afraid she was to go back home. While I was trying to provide help and give her the numbers to the hotline, our local station, and various things like that, Girl #2 decided that she wasn’t getting enough attention. Girl #2 threw herself on the bed and started crying about how horrible her parents were too.

I asked her why her parents were so horrible, and she said they were mean to her. I still didn't really understand what she meant and asked for clarification, to which she replied, "They are so horrible! All they ever do is tell me to stop toking up in the house, and mom said she was disappointed in me for bringing a different guy home every weekend to sleep with!"

She continued on her rant, saying, "AND she said she doesn't want to keep paying for my birth control! My parents HATE me!" Girl #1 looked at me, looked at Girl #2, and immediately told her to just get out of the room. Girl #2 and I haven't been friends since that night.

41. Never Good Enough

My girlfriend was the most ungrateful person. When she was in a previous relationship years ago, she got pregnant and had a daughter. She hadn’t seen or heard from the real dad for quite some time.  We all moved in together. She was the "nothing is good enough" type. She bought a house which I was paying a majority of the mortgage on, and I paid for almost all the bills.

I would take her daughter to school every day, which would make me 15 minutes late to work because she wouldn’t get up.  Luckily my boss liked me enough to let it go. Her daughter was pretty spoiled and only wanted to sleep with her mom. I found it pretty inappropriate to sleep in a bed with a seven-year-old girl, who was not mine biologically, so I would have to sleep on the couch.

If I told her to go sleep in her own bed, I would be called a "bully". I had to redo some sealant on the house because she complained I only resealed around the sink and didn't seal where the granite met the splash guard. She said it looked awful and was angry the rest of the day about it. The sealant was clear and completely invisible for the most part, so it looked fine.

I worked in internet sales; I was not a carpenter or a handyman. Anything I would do, I had to Google to get instructions. A month after she bought the house, the air conditioner went out. She borrowed $2500 from her aunt and said I would pay her back by the end of the month. I didn't have that kind of money and didn’t have great credit either.

Therefore, I couldn't get a reasonable loan, so I had to get one with a crazy high-interest rate just to pay her aunt back for a loan I didn't even take. Evidently, in her culture, it's shameful not to pay back loans, and "as a man," I should have been able to "take care of it". I  never once received a thank you. She was the type of person who would only thank you out of spite and had no idea how good she's got it.

42. Learning Is For Kids

Whoa boy, here we go. Girl I knew had a cool dad, I heard he was building her a car from scratch for her birthday at one point. Then it turned into him getting her a sports car; I think the girl's mom convinced him to do it. But the story about her that sticks with me and bothers me is the dog. She had an older dog and two guinea pigs.

One day I'm at her place and she tells me she's looking for a new home for the guinea pigs because she doesn't really take proper care of them much, her dad does all the work and everything. I think that's reasonable, best to give them to a loving home instead of neglecting them. But then her dad chimes in, saying she can't just dump off her pets on someone else.

He says that she needs to learn responsibility, which I consider to also be a valid and reasonable point. Girl then yells, "I don't need to learn anything, I'm an adult!" She was maybe 19 or 20 at the time, for reference. At that point, I immediately stop considering her argument as reasonable, and I start getting really suspicious of the conversation.

It turns out the whole reason she wanted to get rid of the guinea pigs was that she wanted a puppy. She got the puppy because her mom said so. Still had the guinea pigs and the older dog too. Fast forward a couple weeks, I'm getting married in about a month and this girl calls me up asking me if I can keep the puppy at my place because her family's going on a weeklong cruise.

Yep. You idiots caved and got a very young puppy who couldn't be left unsupervised with your other pets weeks before a cruise you'd had planned for months, and your plan is to drop the thing off on me while I'm doing last-minute setup for my wedding? Also, I have a cat that would eat the poor thing. No way. I don't talk to that girl anymore, I just hope she's treating all her pets alright.

43. Making Room

I've been sitting on this story for a while. So, I am on a "completely full" Southwest flight. Luckily, I am in the A boarding group and got a seat near the front of the plane. I am chilling, low-key watching people board. Time passes and the plane is getting pretty full. At this point, there's virtually no overhead-compartment space left.

This young woman walks on, spots an empty seat in the row ahead of mine, and asks the people in the row to move so she can get in. Completely normal, right? The issue: She has a very large carry-on bag that she cannot fit under the seat in front of her. And, as I said, there's no overhead compartment space left. Here's where it gets crazy.

She proceeds to remove a bag from the overhead-compartment that belonged to a man who was one of the first on the plane, places it in the middle of the aisle, puts her bag in its place, and then sits down as if what she did was totally acceptable social behavior. This drew some major attention from those sitting around her, including the man who owned the bag and the remaining passengers behind her in line who now had to navigate their way around a bag in the middle of the aisle.

Several people are about to let her have it when, luckily, a flight attendant who witnessed all of this arrives. She gives her a short lecture and then proceeds to play a game of Tetris with the bags overhead and, thankfully, is able to squeeze hers and the man's bag in. She deplaned before me and I wasn't able to track her down in the airport, but I really wanted to talk to her to see what her thought process was.

44. True Hatred

My friend's ex-girlfriend was so entitled. Basically, this girl had been terrible for such a long time and she would throw a hissy fit whenever he tried to break up with her. The final time that he tried to break up, she tried to end her own life by throwing herself out of a moving car at 70+ mph. She fought a ton of the officers who showed up to the scene—yet somehow, she managed to get even worse.

After all that, she had the audacity to continue hitting him up. A month later, she suddenly shows up to his place, despite her living two states away, without telling anyone. When I asked her why, she said that she didn't want to handle the rejection from him if she called him up and he were to tell her not to come. I was speechless.

Nowadays, she's still been on him over text and social media. Honestly, I think it's pretty entitled to continue trying and trying, especially after the person's made it clear that they don't want to talk. She literally only knows how to think about herself and talk smack about others/set people against others, hence why she was so terrible in the first place.

Because her parents are rich, she's never been told "no" once in her dang life. I've never truly hated someone as much as I hate her.

45. Sharing Is Caring

Back when the Xbox 360 came out, I worked through the winter cutting firewood out of the back of the property my uncle owned. I would use a hand ax and cut down the trees. Then I would drag the trees back up to the front of the property by hand and cut the wood so it could be sold. After cutting and loading the wood into a trailer, I'd get dropped off at a nearby gas station to sell it.

After I would call my parents on a payphone to be picked up. I was 13 at the time. After a few weeks, I was able to afford an Xbox and Halo 3. My grandma bought my brother one a week later because I wasn't letting him play MY Xbox enough.

46. Middle Sibling

I was the middle sibling and the only one able to save and be responsible with money. This resulted in my parents paying for more things for my sisters than for me since I had my own money and didn't spend it on junk all the time. It was a family joke how good I was at saving money, that I kept the first dollar I'd earned and whatnot.

For example, while growing up my dad always said he'd pay for half of our first car, so we had to work and save the rest of the money. He pays for half of my older sister’s car ($4,000, so he paid $2,000). My turn comes, suddenly it isn't half, it's just $2,000 towards whatever, so I pay $3,500 and he pays $2,000 for my $5,500 car. And I saved that money at a $5/hour part-time job too, which took forever.

My younger sister? He pays half, more than $2,000. I think around $3,000. I’m still kinda salty about it. I’m pretty sure it was because my sisters couldn't scrape up more than half but they knew I had it. I guess the joke is on them though, as I am more financially secure than them nowadays and generally better at managing money, and my car is nicer!

47. Do You Even Know Who My Friends Are?

My uncle has this thing for crazy materialistic women. When I worked at a cigar bar owned by him and some other members of the family, his soon-to-be wife came in and suggested we (the employees) go to the store to get some lanterns to light at the tables and some holiday lights because her other rich friends were coming to see the place.

I openly laughed, since we were very busy and generally understaffed. She got mad and called my uncle, he called me and told me he didn’t want me to send anyone to get that stuff and that he didn’t care. Jokes on you, lady. Something about her emphasizing her materially exclusive connection to these other people really rubbed me the wrong way and had affected my perception of her to this day.

48. (S)weeping

While I was on school, we were cleaning up the classroom before class started. We followed duty rosters so everyone got their own job to do. That day, Josh was in charge of sweeping so we reminded him that he should do his job. He threw a fit, cried, and threatened to tell his mother about it. We were like, "Dude, it's just once a week, the classroom isn't even that big," but he threw a bigger fit and cried in the corner.

We forgot about it...until the next week. I still can't believe what he did. When his day came around again, he brought his mother along into the classroom. We explained everything, but the mother didn’t seem to care if her son is on duty or not. She insisted that her son should not be doing chores and blabbered on how wimpy it is for boys to do chores.

Josh added some more oil to the fire and lied to his mother that we were teasing him. The whole class got scolded. From then on, every time his duty day came up, someone else did the chores for him while he sat there watching us with a smug face. I also remember that one day his mother actually came in, swept the floor for him, and left after scolding us for being so useless.

49. Swimming In Excuses

A few years ago, I worked at a large bank in the foreclosure department. I had been trying to reach a customer who was a doctor. Every time she got on the phone with me she would tell me to quit calling about her pool. She had taken a second mortgage to install an in-ground pool, apparently. She was very rude and dismissive any time I tried to explain the situation to her.

Well, the last conversation with her, I informed her again that I was calling to tell her that the foreclosure was going forward at this point, since she had not made a payment in almost a year. She still did not grasp the seriousness of the situation, and again told me that she was tired of us calling about the pool. Just refused to see reality.

Finally, I got fed up—so I took it up a notch. I explained to her again that it was not the pool we were going to foreclose upon, but her home. Then I offered her a phone number. When she asked what it was for, I told her U-Haul, because she will be needing to move unless her account was brought current within the next 10 days. She wired the past due amount the next day.

50. Why There’s Still Hope

My boyfriend's sister has skirted the line of "spoiled rotten," but for now, she's just "spoiled". She throws fits the moment school and work get a little too challenging for her (like full-on, screaming temper tantrums). Whenever she feels overwhelmed, her mom will spend hours doing her research homework and writing her papers for her.

I would report this to the school if it wouldn't be blatantly obvious who did it. Her mom is an educator and should know better. She once had her boyfriend drive four hours out, and another four back, to come to pick her up during a family trip because she didn't have enough private space to focus on her school work.

We were all sharing rooms and dealing with the lack of space equally, so her mom ended up doing that school work for her. Her parents even offered to give her the master bedroom to herself, which would've had two of us sleeping on the floor. I should mention, this girl is 22 and in college. She does have a sales job, which she's surprisingly really good at, which is why I think she still has hope of being a productive adult.

51. The Way The Cookie Crumbled

When I was in sixth grade, I had no friends, so when I got paired up with a popular girl from school, I was pretty excited about trying to fit in. She was fake nice to me on the bus ride to her house to work on the project. We walked into her house, and her mom was making cookies. Her mom said, "Hi! I'm Kim's mom! Would you like a cookie?" But the girl interrupted and dropped a doozy.

She said, "OH MY GAWD, MOM SHUT UP. YOU ARE EMBARRASSING THE DAYLIGHTS OUT OF ME! NO ONE WANTS YOUR COOKIES!" She was like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Ten minutes later, her little brother came home and was a little pill to his mom too. I went to use the bathroom and walked in on her mom crying. The next time I went to work on the project, it was the SAME story.

She made her mom cry AGAIN. So, I stood up for her mom and told her to knock it off and be nice to her. Then, her mom told me to leave like a sissy.

52. Cruisin’ For A Bruisin’

My father planned for years to take my sister, her family, myself, and my fiancé on a two-week cruise. There were four rooms reserved: one for my parents, one for my fiancé and me, one for my sister and her husband, and one for their children. Only two of the rooms had queen beds, and the other two had two twin beds. Before going on the cruise, I was unaware of this situation.

It seems that my sister was not. While the trip was being planned, she had demanded the second queen bedroom for herself, and my father said she could have it. My fiancé and I arrived on the boat first and were shown to our room—which had a queen bed. Not knowing the lack of a queen in other rooms, we unpacked. My sister discovered the mistake, went to my dad, not me, and demanded that he fix it by booting "the unmarried couple" out.

Refusing to boot us out of our room, my dad went to the people in charge and tried, unsuccessfully, to get my sister another room with a queen. My sister proceeded to completely ignore my father, myself, and my fiancé for the entire cruise. If I had known of the mistake, I would have gladly given up the room if it was so important to her, but after witnessing what a brat she was being, I was not going to do her any favors going forward.

She ruined the VERY expensive, once-in-a-lifetime cruise, used her children as pawns against my father, and did not speak to him in the year since. Growing up, I always thought my sister was slightly narcissistic and prone to throwing silent treatment temper tantrums. After that, I realized she is an overall repulsive person with whom I am embarrassed to share genes.

53. The Ungrateful Houseguest

During my senior year of high school, my friend was booted out of her house by her mentally unstable mother. I convinced my mom to let her stay with us, and she stayed even when I went off to college. It was a HUGE mistake. Once I was gone, she started free-loading off my mom, which hit a nerve with me. She was having people over while my mom was out, and they'd trash the place.

She stopped paying my mom for the cellphone she set up for her, and she was constantly smoking and drinking in her room when my mom had said not to. It really smelled bad there. She took my credit cards without my knowledge. Then, she snuck them back into my wallet. She used them to buy gas for her car that I sold to her super cheap.

She also used them to pay for hotels so she could visit this guy she met at a club. She then got this guy and his friend to move to New York, and she housed them in my mom's house without her knowing for a few months before they found a place. Eventually, I was the one to boot her out. My mom thanked me later.

My uncle owns a restaurant. One time while I was there, two older men ordered their meals, both of which came with a soup. A few moments after getting their soups, one of the men angrily told the waitress that he wanted to speak to the owner. My uncle came over and asked what the problem was, and the man wanted to return the soup because it was too hot.

My uncle told him to "freaking blow on it" and the man started angrily shouting in the middle of the restaurant. He threatened a lawsuit, which I reckon isn’t even a realistic case to bring to the court. Not sure if I’m ever going to see something like that again.

When I was a poor college student my wealthy cousin and his wife went on vacation and offered to let me house sit to give me a break from my three slovenly roommates. They live a few towns over in a very nice house with a huge front lawn and a fancy, tall iron fence with double gates. The fence and gates are about 11 feet high. You have to have a remote to open the gates.

That first night I slept so well! I breakfasted like a king and then drove to school. I got back around five, made a supper fit for a king, and settled down to write an Econ paper. My cousin has a warning system for when someone driving turns off the road and comes up to the gate. There's a chiming sound and you can look at screens in a couple of different rooms to see who it is so that you can buzz them in.

I was deep into my paper when I heard the chime. I was confused at first and check my phone before I realized what it was. I looked from the sofa and could see a movement on the security screen. I stood up and got closer. I'll never forget what I saw. I had a clear view of two women getting out of a white car. One tried to squeeze between two bars of the gate—impossible—and then the other woman tried to boost her over the top of the gate—hilarious.

The top one fell and even from the house I could hear swearing. I was about to press the intercom button and ask what the heck was their problem but I was chuckling at their antics and just watched silently. They peered at the house intently from between the bars like a couple of jailbirds for a while. The skinnier one actually stripped down to her bra and panties and tried to squeeze through the bars again. No dice. Her curves were not allowing that to happen. More swearing.

Then, as the skinny one got dressed again, the bigger one went back to her trunk and got out a tire iron. As soon as she started with the hinges of the gate I was calling 9-1-1. The officers took too long and the women left. I showed the officers the video but they couldn't get a license plate number. When my cousin and his wife returned the next week I told them what happened and we watched the tape. He said that he had no idea who the women were but his wife looked peeved. I packed up, thanked them for my "vacation" and left.

She divorced him that summer.

57. Weekend Trips To Bali

I went to a very expensive private school. I had a lot of scholarships so I wouldn't have to pay the $52,000 a year they were asking for. At the time they had a very lax acceptance policy but were considered a great school, which had the interesting result of attracting very rich kids who weren't interested in the school for its academics but more for its parties and nightlife.

In my dorm during freshman year, there was a girl who supposedly is a descendant of the Versace family of some sort. After seeing the money she'd spend nonchalantly, I was inclined to believe it. Almost every weekend there'd be a knock on our door as she ran through the halls asking who was coming with her on her trip this weekend.

She didn't mean her trip to the grocery store or even a trip home. She meant whatever trip she was planning around the world that weekend. Sometimes it was Paris, others were Australia, Bali, wherever her little heart desired. She'd fly out to these exotic places for weekends, not three-day weekends, not holiday breaks, just your average Friday/Saturday/Sunday.

She would be gobsmacked and sometimes insulted when after a moment of stunned silence, you tell her that you couldn't possibly go with her to Paris for three days let alone afford a last-minute ticket to Paris. She just couldn't comprehend that normal people couldn't afford those things. She also "lived in the dorms" because she was a freshman, and you couldn't live off-campus as a freshman.

But the dorm was just a facade. She actually lived off-campus in what I would later find out to be a $4,000 a month apartment by herself with a house cleaner who'd come every day. She was the most detached-from-reality person I've ever met. And of course, she was drop-dead gorgeous. She'll probably never experience a "hard time" in her entire life, or have to work a single day.

58. Someone Needed To Put The Brakes On My Sister

My mother got a new model BMW X5, and it was supposed to be her car to drive. When my sister got her license, she REFUSED to drive our Toyota Sequoia to school or anywhere. It was to the point where she was cursing out my parents and throwing fits. She would only drive the BMW, essentially taking my mom's new car from her.

My sister felt she was entitled to drive the BMW, and she treated it like garbage. She would also drive her friends everywhere because she didn’t want to have to ride in their inferior cars. She once refused to take in the recycling because we said we were giving the $10 to charity, and she said that if she did the recycling, then it was her money.

59. School Of Spoiled Brats

I lived in a pretty upper-middle-class town for almost all of my life. I remember sitting around in the cafeteria with a few people during a free period at school. We were talking about some kid and how his parents got him a brand new Mercedes for his 16th birthday. One girl said, "I wish my parents got me a Mercedes. I only got a Subaru". That Subaru was completely brand new with basically every feature available.

The student parking lot at my old high school had nicer cars than the teachers’ lot. And the average teacher salary for my school was $90K–$100K, with many teachers making more than that. Not only that, but almost no kid paid for gas or anything else to do with their car. I had seen kids throw hissy fits because mommy and daddy wouldn’t pay for gas, fix a car or a brand new car cause they destroyed the last one, etc.

60. This Rocker Was A Punk

The other guitarist in my band was so selfish and ungrateful, it hurt. We'll start with his guitars. I owned four guitars that I had to work for to buy in the five years I had been playing. He had who knows how many, several which were in the $1,000 range. Yet, he still managed to complain that he didn’t have enough, or nice enough, guitars.

He also owned two iPads. One day his dad tried to ground him and take his iPads. He literally got into a physical fight with his dad over it, and the next day he came to school talking himself up about it. Also, for a while, he didn't have a phone. The day his mom went to get him a phone, he posted a status on Facebook, saying, "My mom needs to hurry up and bring me my phone".

He owned thousands of dollars worth of electronics and didn’t care. Furthermore, his grandparents, who were also loaded, offered him a car for his 16th birthday. It was a car they didn’t drive and was just sitting in the garage. It was in absolutely perfect condition and had fewer miles than any used car you've ever seen. He didn’t want it. Instead, he wanted his parents to buy him a new one.

61.  She Was Honking Crazy

The most ungrateful person I know was my friend's ex-girlfriend. She was from a wealthy family and was used to having everything handed to her because she was, or claimed to be, autistic. If she wanted a new pet—even a monkey—she got it. If she wanted an expensive new dress, she got it. Her 21st birthday present was a pink Ferrari with her name painted on the side of it. But that was just the tip of the iceberg.

She had left a string of ex-boyfriends behind her because once she was a few dates into the relationship, she started demanding expensive clothing, jewelry, and food from them, even though they may be making only meager salaries. My friend didn't know this at the time, but once he got clued into what kind of crazy she was, he dumped her. That's when she lost her marbles.

After he dumped her, she started regressing into an infantile state. When angry, instead of talking, she would make a horrible sound that can only be described as sounding like a giant Canada goose honking. If you made her food wrong, she would have a honking fit. If you give her Pepsi instead of Coke—honking fit. If you donated Christmas presents to small, poor children but neglected to buy her the expensive trinket she wanted—severe honking fit.

62. Stuffed Justice

I went to a state fair one time a few years ago and saw this young mom and her young son (looked to be around four to six). He had a stuffed animal that looked pretty worn out. You could tell that the son had it for a while now. Another mom and son walked up and were about to get on the same ride that the first mom and son were getting on.

Boy places his stuffed animal on a bench so he can go and grab something from one of the stands, and the other boy goes and takes it. Both moms saw it, and the mother of the boy with the stuffed animal goes to try to take it back for her son. Entitled mom yells at her saying stuff like, "If he found it, he should keep it," and, "your son shouldn't have been so careless".

I'm disgusted at this point, but it was about to get even worse. The mom says to the entitled mother that her son's had that stuffed animal his entire life, it belongs to him. Entitled mom says, "You can just get another from one of the stands, it's not a big deal". The boy who the stuffed animal belongs to sees the other boy misusing his stuffed animal and starts to burst out into tears.

Not like an entitled child crying, but as if his heart was just completely broken. He wasn't screaming crying, just a small murmur. This was my breaking point. While the entitled mom wasn't looking, I told her child, "You should give this back". I took the stuffed animal (not by force of course) and I dusted it off, then gave it back to its rightful owner.

Entitled mom sees me give it back to him and starts screaming at me, saying I hurt her child, and she would be pressing charges.  I distract her long enough for the other mom to realize this was her time to escape. After seeing that the family had gotten far enough away from sight, I simply left my and the entitled mother’s conversation while she was talking. I am the stuffed animal vigilante now.

63. Walking, Talking Wallet

Here's a super snobby story from my big sister’s younger years. She was about 12 or 13 at that point, and she and my dad were out buying her some new winter shoes. My sister locked her eyes on a pair of Converse boots almost instantly, and my dad suggested at least looking around some more in case she found something even nicer.

To that my sister just said in a very matter-of-fact way, "Remember, you're just the wallet". Nowadays if someone from the family takes someone else shopping to buy them something, it's "tagging along as the wallet".

64. Outta Control

I knew a mom and dad and their seven-year-old kid who sued the school system because they expelled the kid. He was running around throwing chairs, desks, etc., and would not listen to anyone. The teacher and administration, instead of beating him, sent him home until he could behave. The parents insisted he was nothing like they said, and they were just being mean.

When you saw the family in person, the kid would interrupt them every few seconds, screamed all the time, and refused to sit down. He would smack his dad in the head and pull his mom's hair, shove toys in their faces, all while they were saying what a sweet child he was and it was the teacher's fault. The dad looked defeated and just sat there dejected.

The mom would just look at her son and smile every time he interrupted her. It was a circus and I never really heard from them again.

65. Adventures In Babysitting

There was a kid whose mom catered to every whim he had and never wanted him to feel any bad feelings. She would make him separate dinners, buy him everything he asked for, fight with his teachers when they said he was misbehaving in class—that sort of thing. Anyway, one day I babysat him for her because she had a family emergency.

He asked me for a pb&j sandwich. I made it for him and he started crying and said "this sandwich is different from the sandwich I have at home". He was seven years old, and I wasn't using weird ingredients or anything.

66. Jealous Brothers, Or Spoiled Sister?

I got the family hand-me-down RAV4 that my brother drove before me for my first car. I was grateful, I had a car. Eventually, in college, I bought it off of them for very cheap like $1,500 or something. But that was a lot of hard work for me. Now, here comes my little sister. The day she got her learner’s permit my mom was at the Mini-Cooper dealership letting her pick out the exact one she wanted and bought it for her.

She drove it for about a year, but she wanted a white Jeep, not a red Mini. So the Mini got sold and now she drives her white Jeep. It still hurts me and my brother to this day. She gets to do a lot of things we couldn't do. I remember at Christmas when I was 20, and my birthday is January 8, I had to sit and watch the family drink margaritas and my mom wouldn't let me even touch them.

Now, my sister, who is 19, sits at home drinking and snap chatting with mom. It kills me.

67. We Gave At The Office

The secretary/office manager where I worked would pull a number of stunts. She had a mom who was diagnosed with cancer. First, she sent out an email to the whole office requesting we pull together funds to fly her and her mom to Mexico for some experimental cancer treatment. She only requested money for the airfare, not the treatment. She needed something like $1200.

Several people donated to her cause, and one manager wrote her a check for $1200. Our company didn’t have a travel program, so everybody who traveled just expensed their travel and racked up miles. One of the sales guys bought her the airfare with his miles. Rather than offering to return the money, she pocketed it and then boasted about what she was going to buy with the extra cash. They didn't even get a thank-you email.

She had some auto problems and complained that she didn't have any money. She said to my coworker, "Well, I don't know if I have enough gas to get home today. Can I borrow some money?" My friend obliged by letting her use her gas card. However, when my friend opened her bill, she saw three transactions totaling $250.

After that, she came to work talking about how she was able to buy a pure-bred puppy for her husband for his birthday. She also always wanted to go to lunch with somebody. Of course, every time, she would "forget" her wallet, purse, or credit card. Then, when her mother was committed to hospice care, she said she no longer needed her car.

The car had issues, so she called her mom in hospice and yelled at her for 30 minutes, saying something like, "How dare you give me a car that's in such bad shape". The whole office had to listen in discomfort. To make things worse, she never worked more than five hours a day and never more than two to three times per week because there was always something going on.

68. A Bad Habit To Break

My dad worked hard his entire life for me, my mother, and my sister. He eventually got to the point where he was making pretty good money. He never made my mother work or my sister. Unfortunately, he had back surgery that made him form a nasty pharmaceutical addiction. He totaled his company vehicle and ended up on permanent disability. His job forced him into retirement, or they would have fired him.

My mother and 31-year-old sister also formed habits.  My sister still lived at home, along with her 11-year-old daughter, who my father raised and supported, and who never worked a day in her life. My zombie mother and sister just sat around and waited for my father’s disability check, which was a lot, to roll in. They were both mad at my father for "letting" all this happen to them.

My sister sat on her behind all day and would make my mother wait on her hand and foot. The entire situation sickened me. She even went as far as pounding on the wall to have my mother cater to her. I know if my dad dies, they will both be at my front door. I cringe at the thought of that. Luckily, I was taught a valuable work ethic and was able to become completely independent early on.

69. Move Aside

I moved cross country to California with a friend who I thought was pretty grounded. Her mom and stepdad were also moving out there, so I was able to toss my stuff in with theirs on the truck. When we got out there, we found a place and had a move-in date. The week before the move-in date, her mom bought her a car. THAT SAME NIGHT she was screaming at her mom because she wouldn't take off to help us move in on the first day we could.

Not only did she buy a car for her and offer to help us move in on another day, but she was also going to pay for the truck to move our stuff and all of my friend's rent and utilities. As a matter of fact, she was paying all the rent and utilities. My half went right into my friend's pocket. While she was screaming at her mom, her stepdad and I were outside on the porch.

I was apologizing because I was very grateful for everything they had done, and I didn't want them to think we were of the same mind on the whole situation. He asked if I could be his stepdaughter instead.

70.  Family Unfriending

When I was visiting my cousin for a few days,  she asked me for a laptop which I gave her. She headed to her bedroom without even saying thank you. At the end of my visit, my almost brand new iPod touch went missing. I asked her and her sisters if they had found it, and they replied that they hadn’t seen it. I knew I had left it inside my backpack when I went out and met my friend.

My cousin said that maybe it was lost at the bus stop, which was impossible because I was listening to it when my uncle picked me up from there. Several weeks later, I logged into Facebook—and my jaw DROPPED. My cousin had posted pictures with MY iPod touch. I knew that it was mine because the iPod cord was still connected to the laptop that I gave her, and they didn’t own any iPhones or iPods with a camera.

I commented on her picture, which she ignored and then deleted. She then unfriended and blocked me.

71. She Was A Moaning Mooch

I had a friend, supposedly my "best" friend, who was the worst person I knew. She didn’t work and was only considered a part-time student at the university we attended. This wouldn't bother me so much if it weren't for how she treated the situation. Every single day, she would get money from her parents. Not once a month, or even once a week. Every day.

She would moan when she didn’t get as much as she originally wanted or if they didn't transfer it to her quickly enough. She would waste the money, too. Instead of buying cheaper foods or trying to save the cash she received, she instantly spent it on junk, such as fast food or booze. The worst part was that her parents couldn’t afford it—any of it.

She attended a school she couldn’t afford, lived in a place she couldn't afford, and then asked for more money, and she was so ungrateful about it. She would moan all the time about how they would tell her to look for work, find better ways to spend it, etc. She was just lazy and emotionally draining.

72. Car Problems

My buddy’s girlfriend had her father buy her a new Jeep. The same week, she needed some extra money and decided to take it out of her mom's purse. She got caught, obviously, and they took the Jeep. She threw a fit about having mean parents so the father sold the brand-new jeep and got her a little beater SUV. It probably won't help her: This family is rich.

I'm talking like, "maybe I'll buy a G6 or maybe I'll buy another boat" rich. Her father invests portions of her money every month for her. She only spends tip money from her job, the rest goes to her savings (which her father handles). He's made great amounts of money investing in stocks. She is wealthy enough to never need to go to college. Yet, she's taking money from her parents and complaining about how bad they are.

The parents are doing the best they can to discipline this girl but she is just too much for her own good.

73. The Great Exchange

My husband and I host high school age exchange students in Canada. They come from a bunch of different places in the world. Had this one boy from Southern Italy. About two weeks in, we had this conversation: Him: My sheets haven't been washed yet. Me: Have you washed them? Him: No. Me: Well that's probably why they haven't been washed. His next words left me stunned".

The housekeeper does that". The weird thing is that he did wash his clothes. His hang-up with the sheets was he didn't know how to put the bed back together. Needless to say, he learned how to do laundry properly, make a bed, and went home with some basic cooking skills and a couple recipes in his pocket. Kid was definitely a brat, but his willingness to learn these things made us have the patience to teach him.

74. Stupidhead Is Not So Stupid

I witnessed some great creative punishment while was standing in line at a major supermarket. In front of me was a woman and a small girl (about 4), and in front of them was a young mother, with a small boy (about 3). The little boy asked his mother for a candy bar, and was told "No". The little boy then asked for a candy bar again, and he was told "No" again. I was getting a headache so this was extra annoying.

So at this point, he decided to have a temper tantrum. He threw himself on the ground, cried, screamed, called his mother a "stupidhead," amongst all of the classic tantrum behavior. So, his mother then whispered to the mother standing behind her and they smiled, all while this little boy was so upset about being denied a candy bar. I was confused—but then their devious plan was set into motion.

His mother then took a candy bar from the shelf and put it in her cart. The boy was happy upon witnessing this, and his tantrum stopped. The mother and son went through the checkout and paid. The mother then turned around and handed the candy bar to the little girl behind her in line. She looked directly at her son and said, "Children who behave are rewarded, and children who throw tantrums and embarrass their mothers get nothing".

She turned around on her heel and walked away from the boy, who was left silent with his jaw gaping. A bunch of us broke out in applause. It was brilliant.

75. Sometimes It’s Best to Keep Your Mouth Shut

The company consisted of something like 1,200 employees at the time, and rented out a big conference center for a Christmas party. At the opening of the party, the CFO was giving opening remarks, and asked—expecting cheers—if everyone liked their Christmas bonuses. He got booed. See, of that 1,200 people, a bit over a thousand were in customer service. No one in customer service got bonuses, only people in the "corporate" departments got them.

And our awesome CFO decided to rub everyone's noses in it, because clearly, the Chief Financial Officer of a company would have no idea that 80%+ of his company didn't get bonuses. At the same party, the CEO made an announcement that the company would be closed on Friday (Christmas that year was on a Thursday), and everyone got a day off.

Now, he had literally just finished making a speech about how everyone was important, and everyone was part of the company, no matter the department. The next day, we all got an utterly heinous memo. Customer Service still had to work on that Friday. We apparently didn't count as "everyone" and the CEO just hadn't realized that the announcement wouldn't apply to anyone. January saw a 60% attrition rate.

76. Ingrateful Sister

To this day, I give my sister a sizable allowance every month because my parents were having trouble making ends meet, and couldn't afford to give my sister spending money while she attended an expensive art school. One evening, I needed to attend a fancy fundraising dinner for work. Knowing my sister had no plans to go out that evening, I asked her if I could borrow the new luxury sports car.

It’s a nice car that my parents had bought for her. At the time, I was driving an old, beat-up hand-me-down. She tells me that she drove 50 miles that day, so she wanted the engine to rest. I give her the most incredulous look, and my dad, sensing how flabbergasted I was, tells my sister, "Your brother gives you money, couldn't you let him borrow your car for one night?" Her reply was infuriating.

She said, "I never asked him for money". My dad reduced her to tears that evening.

77. His Words Took A Bite Out Of Me

I was a spoiled brat up until the age of 16. My mother and I would butt heads all the time, and when I didn't get anything, I would always go to my father to get what I wanted. When I was 16, I got into a nasty fight with my mother, so I went to a friend's, and we went to her boyfriend's house. The boyfriend had parents who were awful people who kept a pack of dogs.

We were hanging out outside the house for a bit while waiting for another friend. When the other friend showed up, we started horsing around by the pack of dogs. I never thought it would end so badly. The next thing I knew, I had been bit by one of the dogs. After going to the hospital, I went home and was in deep trouble. It was probably the worst I had ever experienced.

My mother screamed, shouted, and threw things at me. I was grounded for six months. I had no TV, no books, no internet, no video games, no after-school activities, nothing. Just school, come home, and work until bed. My father took a very different approach. He explained to me why they were worried and what I did was wrong.

In the end, he said, "You are my child, and I will always love you, but it is my responsibility to raise you as a functioning being, and so far, I have failed. I'm sorry". After that, I stopped asking for things I didn’t need, and every day I would tell them how much I appreciated them. The incident helped me realize I was actually an awful person and needed help.

78. The Early Riser Razed The Fridge

A close friend of mine needed money, so he let someone borrow his small apartment for a month for a fee. He moved into my friend’s place and considered it home. We have all been friends for ages, so it was okay to crash for several weeks. The problem was he didn't really care about others. He would set his alarm for 6 AM to get dressed and go to school.

However, most of the days, he skipped school, and all he did was wake up my other friend. Not only that, but he liked to eat. One night he said he was going for a midnight snack. The next day my friend went downstairs at 6 AM, since he was awakened by the alarm AGAIN, and found out his fridge had been plundered. The midnight snack was more like a midnight feast.

The worst part is that he didn’t pay for anything while using all my friend's stuff.

My sister was staying at our house. She constantly demanded spending cash from my mother, who was laid up recovering from back and eye surgeries. My mom was facing long-term unemployment during her recovery and had NO MONEY to be throwing at my ungrateful sibling.  Regardless, my sister kept demanding it without a shred of thought for the kind of burden she was putting on the family budget.

My mom kept rolling over for her because she couldn’t walk and therefore couldn’t escape the full-on tantrums my 19-year-old sister would throw when she was told "no". The worst part was my sister spent approximately two weeks trying to find a summer job while she stayed home. Despite not finding one, she still felt she deserved a week-long vacation, covered by my mom's money, of course.

My girlfriend’s family wasn’t well off and was broke. Her sister was so spoiled and a brat about it. The day after she got her license, she took her best friend’s car while he was asleep and did the worst thing possible: She crashed it into two parked cars because she was texting. Her dad yelled at her, she cried, and all was forgiven.

Then after that, she said her parents needed to give her $4,000 to help pay for a car for her. She was pretty into illicit substances, and her dad didn't know. She would drive his car to work and go out sometimes and smoke weed in his car while driving. He eventually found out and yelled at her again. She cried and said she was going to off herself because she was grounded. She got out of trouble and was gifted a kitten.

81. Double Standard

My younger sister got my parents to pay for all her costs for a full ride to college across the state, something they didn't do for me. She flunked out sometime in the first two years. In year four, my parents discovered she was faking transcripts and tuition bills and spending all the money on herself. They slowly cut her off but still gave her a limited budget for housing and food. They didn't even ask for the money back.

She threw a tantrum, refusing to acknowledge their existence until they returned her to her previous standard of living. They took it hard. She moved in with her boyfriend and followed him out of state. My parents pay for their smartphones so that they know she can contact them if there's an "emergency". She would occasionally call my parents to ask for loans and verify there was a birthday or Christmas gift in the mail. They comply just to stay in contact.

He refused to buy toilet paper because he thought I would supply him for an entire year—but that’s not the worst part. He then physically fought me when I told him to buy his own.

I lived with my girlfriend for two years and paid the rent the entire time. I even put up with her "YOLO"-type friends who continually trashed my house. After putting up with all that, she cheated on me with two guys at the same time. 85. Feeling: Insulted

My friend sticks her neck out to get her sister a job at a plant making $19 an hour to start. This is a woman with no education, no skills, and three kids. She had been beamed up from minimum wage nightmares for her one big break in life. She was one of those people who was always selling a $5 item on Facebook. You'd think she'd be thrilled, right? Wrong.

This piece of work quit in two hours and then IMMEDIATELY took to Facebook to justify it. She claimed she had "too much education" for this job when she spent five years trying to get an associate's and never did. She called the job AN INSULT TO HER INTELLIGENCE! For God's sake. I know people whose families are thriving working at this same place.

She doesn't have two nickels to rub together, and she's insulted by the job. I just found it so disgustingly condescending considering I have a lot of blue-collar friends who are smarter and more successful than she'll ever be.

When I was 15 I was dating this girl that I met at a coffee shop downtown. Her parents were loaded. Like home movie theater, cellar for vino, live-in maid. Loaded. The girl got a brand new Lexus for her 16th birthday. It took her four times to pass her driving test. A week later she totals the car…so they buy her another one.

Her parents also flew her from California to London to go school clothes shopping.

87. He Couldn’t Get A Handle On It

A guy at my dad’s work got so big that he couldn't fit into his car anymore to get to work. So, a co-worker offered to give him a ride to work in his car every day. One day as he was leaving work and getting into the guy's car, he used the above door handle to get in. Due to his immense weight, he pulled the handle off, ripping part of the car roof off, and fell in the parking lot.

The guy tried to sue his work, saying that it happened on company property, so he should get paid for his injuries. They determined that since he had already clocked out that he didn't qualify. So, he ended up suing the co-worker who was driving him to and from work every day, saying his car was unsafe and endangered him. Hearing about it enraged me.

88. Furniture Freak Out

I knew a girl who was given a completely new chest of drawers. Her parents had driven over 1000 km (621 mi)  to give it to her because they thought it would go nicely in her new, fully refurbished apartment in Stockholm.  She threw a hissy fit because it wasn’t completely white; it had one small wooden colored detail on it. She made them take it all the way back and buy her a white one that was twice as expensive.

89. Beam Me Up

Growing up, my dad was wealthy, but he was not the kind of person who spoiled his kids or flashed his money. It just wasn't his style. All my aunts and uncles were also wealthy. One year, when I was in my 20s, I showed up to Christmas in my nice new Mitsubishi. There was nothing but new Beamers and Porsche SUVs. It didn’t matter to me because I had saved like mad for my car and it wasn’t a bad car.

I was outside having a smoke, and one of my cousins came out and started to talk about cars. He had a new Beamer. I did not realize was that he was only 16 years old. He kept moaning about how he had a bad car and was going to make his parents buy him a new one. I couldn't believe it. I put out my smoke and went into the house. I did everything to avoid that spoiled brat the rest of the day.

90. My Sister Got Called Out

I got a new iPhone, so I decided to give my 12-year-old sister my old one. I knew it was old, but it would be her first cell phone, and I thought she would be happy. She literally said, "Eww," and threw the phone in the garbage right in from of my dad and me. I was shocked, and my dad lost it. He yelled at her and gave her the whole "you don't appreciate what you have" speech.

He then took away her computer and gave her an old Motorola Razr phone that could only call my dad, mom, and myself. I know I should have some sort of solidarity with my brothers and sisters, but it felt pretty good when I saw her get punished.

91. The All-Seeing Pie

Several years ago I was running pies for the Hut. We had a particularly nice house that I always seemed to get. It was a nice couple with three kids and a big house. They had money and always had large orders and tipped well. One day, I get routed to their address but I notice the order is very different than normal. It’s about double what they order and the name on the order is not the father’s name.

Interesting, so I take the order to their house. The house is literally bumping. Mom and dad’s car is nowhere in sight. I get their oldest daughter, roughly 15, to answer the door. Now mind you, I don’t care at all if the kids are having a good time, but she made an enemy of me that day. She proceeds to complain that I took forever in a condescending tone, make fun of my uniform, and stiff me on a $100+ order.

I didn’t say anything at the time, but I got my revenge. About two weeks later the house orders again. Normal order, normal name. And I magically get their order. When I arrive, her father is at the door and I can’t help myself. I ask him if they had a good time at the party. He’s clearly confused, so I remind him of the great party they had two weeks prior.

He sits and thinks for a minute. Then he hands me a freaking $50 tip and says, "Thank you very much, I’m sure we enjoyed the party a lot". After he closes the door, all I hear is him yell "Brooooookk get your butt down here right now". It was a jerk move sure, but nah, be nice to your driver—and tip them.

92. Money Can’t Buy You Class

I've been a TA for a couple courses at my university, which is fairly competitive and the students are generally all top notch. Once in a blue moon, though, someone slips by the admission process. My worst experience was as a TA for a lower division math course. She was a freshman student, and spoiled doesn't begin to cut it.

Her family was clearly loaded, and I suspect she went to some insanely expensive private school that wrote her application for her. This girl would be in designer clothes and on her phone or laptop the entire time in lecture. Obviously everyone does this sometimes, but this girl was clearly just chatting with her friends and shopping for clothes all the time.

When she failed to turn in the first four problem sets, I sent her a quick email to let her know that homework contributed to a significant portion of her grade. I also said I'd still accept them. I never got a response. So she gets a blatant F on her first midterm. Like, it’s not an F that could be rounded up to anything significant.

She was at a point where she should've just dropped out and try again next semester. I sent another email saying this. This time I got a response, with her stating she could make the grade back next midterm. Alright, I think, suit yourself.  So I continue through the rest of the semester. She's still failing...until something absolutely ridiculous happens.

At the last meeting of my discussion section, SHE SHOWS UP! Not just that, but with her parents. Oh my god, it gets better. She stays after the session to introduce me to her parents, and then hands me a stack of papers and informs me that it's all the homework for the semester. Meanwhile her parents are sitting there all proud of their little girl.

I take the stack graciously and, in my most professional voice, let her know that I'd be happy to take a look at it, but she won't get any credit. Her parents' faces completely fall. Her father starts to insult me. So I show them everything: The abysmal attendance record, the 0% homework score, the low, low, low midterm scores.

Now she's starting to tear up and the parents are seriously fuming. Not wanting to put myself in the middle of the rest of the storm, I mumble that I have a class to get to and sprint out of there...but not before I hear the student getting chewed up so loudly that people actually poked their heads out of classrooms. She never showed up for the final.

93. Hotel Havoc

I used to work as a front desk agent at a boutique hotel. A guy who was obviously very full of himself came in with an online reservation that he had booked at a shockingly cheap nightly rate. He proceeded to give me a hard time about EVERYTHING, from telling me he shouldn't have to give me his credit card info since he had prepaid his reservation, to telling me "Um yeah, I'm pretty sure I can find the elevators, I'm not stupid".

He was just being an all-around jerk. About 10 minutes after checking him in, he came down and demanded that we give him a bigger room with a king bed and a view, even though he had booked a standard queen bed online. I complied, as we had extra king beds available. 10 minutes later, he came down again to complain about the size of the room.

He told me, "I'm only going to give you one more chance to make me happy," and asked for the general manager. After much arguing between him and my manager, we ended up giving him our nicest suite AND free parking since we had "Given him trouble". He got all this for a way cheaper rate, like $40 per night! Oh, but he outdid himself.

Get this: He informed us shortly after the ordeal, while on his way out to dinner, that he was not even going to be in the room for the majority of his stay, as he was visiting friends and would be staying at their home. What the heck! So I made it my personal mission to make his life a living nightmare from that point on.

I reset his room keys every time I saw him leave the hotel—which was quite frequently, 3-4 times a day. It was particularly funny when he came back tired from a night out and had to come all the way down to the front desk to get his keys fixed. Needless to say, he was very frustrated by the end of his stay. I doubt he'll be staying with us again.

94. It Didn’t Add up

I interned in a class with this kid who always thought he was smarter than everyone else. He was pretty smart, but not by too much. Yet he always got paired with kids who weren’t as smart as him, so he would always be super smug when dealing with them. During one parent-teacher conference, we found out exactly where he got it from.

His parents thought he was the smartest kid in the school. They built him up as that and they got him thinking it, too. In this meeting, they even went off on the teacher, saying she "was bringing him down" and that she "was terrible". The conference ended when the teacher left the room crying. But it didn't take long for sweet revenge.

About a week later, there was an event where parents came to watch their children do math games with other students. Well, the teacher paired this smug little kid with the actual smartest kid in class. The kid got destroyed in the math games. His parents were so flustered, they left before it was all done and took him out of school for the rest of the day.

95. Feeding Time

I have worked for some of the richest people in Maryland and the one thing that stands out more than others is this doctor I worked for in Montgomery County, one of the most affluent zip codes in America. This guy owned a lot of offices around the DC area, employing tons of employees and associate doctors, etc. He was really wealthy. He had a place with a huge garage full of exorbitantly expensive cars like Ferraris, an art collection, a wine cellar—the works.

I used to do IT work for his medical practice and managed all the servers, etc., and occasionally went to their house because I was the lead admin. Once, I was working in his house and was walking around upstairs where the bedrooms were when I came across the most off-putting sight. What I see is that this guy was lying in bed being fed by an assistant. I mean, he was literally lying in the bed while someone, completely platonically, hand-fed him, and not something like grapes but a regular meal. It was strange, to say the least.

Imagine someone feeding you a full meal with things like a steak and spoons of soup, salad, etc. and you never use your hands. It was like an adult being fed like a baby. I've never seen anything like that before and that was what popped into my mind, like a dictator or something who demands to be treated like a literal king.

Keep in mind this was a man in his 50s who was in fine physical shape and didn't need a caregiver. It was just pure opulence.

96. Missing Fairy Godparent

A colleague of mine used to be a bouncer at a club that was the place for rich kids to hang out. He saw a lot of the typical "look at me I’m so rich!" behavior. Things like buying the most expensive champagne in the club and telling the bartender to pour it down the drain, wearing several Rolex watches and handing them out like candy to strangers or tipping the staff thousands of dollars were not uncommon.

The thing that stuck with him the most was just how far removed these kids were from reality. In particular, one disturbing incident stood out to him. One night he had door duty and didn’t let a kid under the influence into the club. So, what did the kid do? He decided that it was a good idea to take a swing at him. It turns out that it wasn’t a good idea.

The kid found this out quickly after he was lying face down on the ground, handcuffed with his hands behind his back. But even now the kid didn’t seem to be too worried, he just kept saying, "It’s all right, just call my dad and he’ll sort this out," over and over again. He seemed incapable of realizing that he was actually getting arrested for attempted assault.

Not even when the authorities finally arrived and put him in the back of their car did he seem to fully grasp the fact that he was actually in trouble and that his dad wouldn’t show up, wave a wand, and make this all go away.

97. One Per Person

I was recently on a Megabus from DC to NY, and a family with several young children was trying to find the last untaken seats. There was clearly a seat open, but when they asked the girl, she was like, "Sorry I want to leave this seat open so I can sleep". The family was like, "Uh, no, that’s not how it works". They had to go get the bus driver and bring him to the back.

The lady said the same thing to the bus driver. And the bus driver was like, "Uh, no, that's not how this works". So, the kid ended up sitting next to this girl. How did she think this was going to slide?

98. I Saved His Life, And He Ruined Mine

My freshmen year roommate was a spoiled, rich kid. One night, halfway through the first semester, he got really inebriated at a house party and came back to our room. I was playing video games with some buddies in our room when he came in and face-planted right in front of us. We stopped playing and took him to his bed, laid him on his side, and pointed his face towards the garbage.

We sat there for a little bit, and he started throwing up blood and dry heaving. I was really worried, then he took a turn for the worst. He turned a whitish green color. I went to get my RA to call the paramedics. While my roommate was being brought out, the medic said to me, "You did the right thing. You may have just saved his life". But that's not the crazy part.

After getting his stomach pumped, the kid got mad at me because his parents found out. He broke some of my stuff and made my life a living nightmare.

99. Check, Please!

I used to be a server in Muskoka, Ontario many years ago. For those who don’t know, this is one of the most popular upscale summer cottage regions in Canada. There are always lots of celebrities in the area for the summer, and in my day I served burgers to Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn, drinks to Martin Short and Dan Akroyd, and got to meet many other big names.

One time, I had a local nobody at one of my tables who thought he was a big-shot celebrity. He would never tip and would always crumple up both copies of the Visa bill into a tiny little ball—but that’s not the worst part. He would even chew on it the receipts until they were the size of a spitball. So this jerk comes in with a bunch of friends and treats them all to supper, running up a $600 bill.

He then crumples up the Visa bills again into a tiny little ball and flicks it at me with a grin on his face. I swiftly kick it off the patio and it falls into the lake our patio is on. He sees this and says in front of the whole table, "I guess you won't know what your tip is now!" I tell the whole table flat out that he never tips anyway, so no big loss.

I then walk away, leaving them to awkwardly digest what I had just said. But I didn’t stop there. Eventually, they left. At that moment, I immediately called the authorities and reported him on a "dine and dash" claim, because there is no evidence that this guy paid for his dinner since the receipt was in the lake now. I even deleted the pre-authorization from the debit machine, just for good measure.

So a bunch of officers show up at this guy's house and make him return to the restaurant to pay again. He was never a jerk to me ever again.

100. @Bridezilla

One of my best friends fell real far into Instagram, and for a few years, it was tolerable and understandable, albeit annoying and strange. Everything needed to be documented in specific ways, so lots & lots of photos, even if it took away from the moment. Fast forward a couple of years, and she gets engaged. Boom. This was the catalyst for the worst of the influencer mentality to come out.

I was in the bridal party, and it was a nightmare. No gratitude, just demands. She demands expensive trips and expensive parties and all kinds of things that were above and beyond the means of her closest friends. And all the demands were because she had a "following" and had certain expectations to meet. It was really heart-wrenching to witness someone belittle their best friend and maid of honor for trying to plan a sweet bridal shower because it wasn’t going to be at an expensive restaurant or art gallery. But it didn’t stop there…

It reached its peak for me when, after the in-state wedding became an expensive destination wedding, there was the demand for an out-of-town bachelorette party a few weeks before. I was honest and said I couldn’t afford the bachelorette. Mind you, I made about a thousand sacrifices over those months to afford what I could. I was promptly bridezilla’d. She told me I ruined the whole experience and that I was an awful, fake, inauthentic person.

It got so bad that the bridal party fractured and disintegrated. She lost two of her best friends—myself and the maid of honor didn’t even attend the wedding after all her behavior and tantrums. We’ve barely spoken since. All so she could have an Instagrammable wedding that would look good for the few photos she ended up sharing of it. That’s not even the strangest part.

True to the weird re-written reality she lived in, she published a public "apology" on her blog for her followers and family that completely distorted and rewrote what happened. She painted herself as the victim, and it got her the sympathy points she was looking for. People really lose themselves when they create an artifice for social media. I learned a lot from her.

101. Like Mother, Like Daughter

My ex had always mentioned how she would love to see a Montreal Canadiens hockey game. Seeing as her birthday was coming up, I decided I would spare no expense to get tickets. So after some searching, I managed to find tickets just behind the Habs' bench about 10-15 rows up. They were not cheap seats. When her birthday came, I handed her the envelope containing her birthday card with the tickets.

She opened it, and upon seeing what the envelope contained, she smiled one of those sarcastic, "Thanks, it's really greeeaaaaat, it's what I always wanted," kind of smiles. I picked up on the obvious disappointment on her face, and asked, "What? You don't like your gift? You DID say you wanted to see a Canadiens game, right?"

She replied, "Well yeah, but that would be a gift for like, whenever. For my birthday, I wanted something shiny, like earrings or a necklace or a ring". I was so shocked by that response that all I could bring myself to say was, "Sorry, sweety, I'll make it up to you. But we can still go to the game tonight". She replied with, "No way! If you think I'm gonna spend MY birthday sitting in a cold ice rink instead doing what I choose to, you're mistaken, Mister!"

I was absolutely FUMING at that point. She told me, "As punishment for not getting me what I really wanted, for not knowing me as well as you should by not getting me what I really wanted, I'm going out with my girls tonight. You can scalp the tickets and give me the cash you make, and that's a start for me to forgive you!" At that point, she got out of my car and slammed the door. I ended it the very next day.

When her mom found out what happened, she called me and told me that the whole thing could easily be made good if I just went out and bought her a ring as she wanted. If I were to do that, she would take me back, and all would be well. I replied, "Now I see why your daughter is so materialistic. She has a very good role model". Two days later, I met the woman who would become my wife.

When I got her tickets to see her favorite team, the Penguins, she was so happy; she cried at how thoughtful my gift was.
