As soon as we get old enough to really think about things, we start to realize just how much of life around us makes no sense at all! Maybe that's why most teachers tend to focus on the basics: fundamental knowledge and well-known facts. Why make things complicated right? We start with our ABCs, move onto basic math, and try our best to steer kids clear of the really crazy stuff.
Well that strategy leaves something to be desired. Because beyond those boring basics, there's so much more to explore! Fascinating facts, tantalizing trivia, and bizarre bits of knowledge... oh my. It should be crime for a teacher to keep those exciting pieces of information out of our classrooms. After all, we want our kids excited about school, don't we?
