10 Of The Most Insanely Stubborn Homeowners

Reid Kerr-Keller

A man’s home is his castle. That’s a piece of folksy wisdom that never seems to go away. Of course, not everyone feels the need to take that literally… most of us simply treat our homes with some heartfelt pride and affection. Wash the windows… Mow the lawn… That kind of thing.

Then again, there are some who view the phrase a little more seriously, and who approach the defense of their domain with the fierceness of a rapid hyena. And we don’t just mean from squirrels digging in the lawn, or few too many salesman tap-tap-tapping on the door.

No, when faced with greedy developers and over-zealous city planners, these tenacious homeowners proved that, in some cases, a little grit can go a long way. There are cases, however, where it seems like all a stubborn homeowner succeeds in doing, is to cause themselves some major inconveniences. Is your house still a home when it’s teetering on the edge of a construction site, or dwarfed between high-rise apartment buildings? How about when it’s left sticking out into the middle of a road?

So it seems there is a line, when it comes to protecting our dominions. We’ll leave it up to you to decide if this insanely determined group of homeowners (cum Castle Guards) crossed it.
