2020's Best Trucks Are Bigger And More Impressive Than Ever

The SUV might have become the more popular option when it comes to picking an automobile in recent years—but it’s darn near impossible to deny the allure of a good old-fashioned pickup truck. They’ve come a long away from the utilitarian beater your grandfather used to drive. 2020's best trucks have a lot to offer, especially with some of the features you get today. Even though there are only a few companies out there still making pickup trucks, the ones that are active continue to push the envelope and give consumers amazing choices, no matter what you’re looking for.

2020's Best Trucks

Full-sized trucks nowadays still do their job and have the toughness to tackle any job you throw at them. But now, they've also got the size and comfort to do double-duty and act as an everyday or family vehicle. Today's mid-sized trucks offer amazing versatility and surprisingly good gas mileage. But, when the rubber hits the road, they can still get the job done. Modern truck manufacturers truly have something for everyone, regardless of budget, towing need, or family size.

Pickup trucks just seem to be getting better and better every year and 2020 is no different. There are a slew of new features and markers of better performance, and some have even got a full-on makeover compared to previous models. So let’s take a look at some of the best options out there.

Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD

A staple of the American truck landscape for decades, the all-new 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD completely changes the game. For 2020, Chevy gave this legendary truck a complete overhaul. The biggest upgrade? They managed to get an absolutely huge 4,000-pound increase in its max towing capacity. You can thank the Silverado's all-new 10-speed Allison automatic transmission for that. And that’s not all—with an even-roomier interior, a sleek new look, and all the extras and features that we’ve come to expect from Chevy, the 2020 Silverado 2500HD is absolutely worth a close look—and a test drive—in its weight class.

Toyota Tacoma

The Toyota Tacoma has been a staple of the mid-sized truck market for decades, and in 2020, they’ve done an absolutely amazing job of bringing their classic model into the modern era. The Tacoma has always offered amazing reliability, off-road handling, and impressive resale value. However, until recently, it lagged behind on some of the creature comforts we’ve come to expect from our vehicles. Tacomas from the past few years have lacked features such as height-adjust driver’s seats and Apple CarPlay, but finally, Toyota has rectified that in 2020. Now, you can get everything you loved from the Tacoma, with the same features you’d get from the other guys. What's not to like?

Ford F-150

It’s hard to talk trucks without bringing up the platonic ideal of a pick-up: the classic Ford F-150. And, as always, the 2020 model is impressive as ever. Ford’s unique aluminum construction continues to make it one of the most lightweight trucks on the market—and the benefits of that are passed on to you. As a feature of its durable and lightweight construction, it boasts first-class towing and payload capacities. On top of that, Ford’s latest engines also offer remarkable fuel-economy for a full-sized pickup, meaning fewer trips to the pump, less wear and tear on the ol’ wallet, and more time out on the road. And, of course, their massive range of options means that whatever kind of F-150 you’re looking for—from a pure hauler to something for the family—Ford’s got you covered.

Ram 1500

It takes a lot for a group of people to agree on something, but all over the internet, reviewers seem to agree that the Ram 1500 is the full-sized truck to beat in 2020. It seems as though, once again, the team at Ram has thought of absolutely everything. First off, their coil-spring suspension offers a smooth ride even when you’re hauling heavy loads. On top of that, the EcoDiesel V6 offers amazing economy without sacrificing performance. And, as an added bonus, the interior features a clean, rustic aesthetic with some amazing touches for the whole family—some of the highlights include the utterly massive 12-inch tablet console and reclining rear seats. For a little bit of everything, look no further than Ram.
